Honestly, there were some things we loved: The incredible service t the restaurants when seated. The happy attitude of most of the staff The Beach But on an overall scale, we were left wanting. The pool is just a wading pool. You have to jump off the pier to do laps. Only one restaurant open for breakfast, lunch or dinner (unless you want tapas.) For a wellness resort, the menu was full of fried foods, rich components and not a vegertarian option unless you asked. Our biggest disappointments was 1. the mini bar -- a couple bags of banana chips and a couple granola bars? The fresh fruit in your room daily non existent. Sometimes had to beg to get washcloths or enough towels. 2. the pool service - or should I say lack of pool service. For such a "high end" resort, we had to get our own towels, go into the restaurant/bar to order drinks or food and often set up our own umbrellas. Once walking into the bar, i saw the entire staff laughing it up as I walked in dripping to finally get a drink.3. The butler service provided us with ---excuses. Yes, he helped a small bit but usually just told us why they couldn't instead of trying to effect a small change.
The resort is small and quiet so if that is your objective than this is the place for you to relax in the sun. The beach front is very small and the water is very shallow and still due to the reef that surrounds the entire resort. However, warm, salty ocean water is amazing at any depth. The pool area is pretty and looks out to the blue ocean however, shallow as well. No hot tub on premise that I could find. Some first floor rooms have pools but only one faces the sun so the others are very cold and shady. The room amenities are modern, comfortable and clean! The spa was not fully open, nor was the gym. However, we were able to schedule a private group yoga class earlier in the morning that fit our ability and preference for time. This accommodation was great! The drinks were great for an all inclusive! Some of the best quality liquor that I have ever seen available. The food was very good for the most part. However, for a "wellness" spa it was sometimes challenging to get enough veggies which I found interesting. The service is slow by American standards but probably fast by Jamaican standards. The staff were friendly and tried their best, as they were still learning menus, etc. There are three restaurants on site and only 1-2 open at any given time so by 5 days you have tried everything at least once on the menu's. Overall value was good due to our great deal for an opening resort. I would not pay full price for this resort until they have been up and running for many months.
I loved this place. Wonderful people working there and great service. Overall, the beach is small and so is the pool area. However, since it is an adult's only resort, this didn't pose too many problems. The food is amazing and healthy. I didn't love the sound of traffic that comes into the resort, but I tended to mostly block it out. I loved the room and the wonderful weather.
My husband and I have stayed at a variety of luxury resorts and Zoetry Montego Bay over promised their amenities by a long shot. To be fair, the resort is STILL under construction however even when complete there isn't much to do there. The beach was VERY disappointing - it seemed like they had sandbags under the sand and the water was super shallow. It felt like they excavated to create a beach. The gym currently lives in a guest room and the spa opened on the second to last day we were there. We didn't bother to check it out. Two restaurants that alternate for dinner No buffet options Room service menu is limited One bar (it's in the lobby by reception) A jerk chicken bar open midday on the beach - this is probably the thing we enjoyed the most!
We chose Zoetry Montego Bay for the privacy. It is a new adult-only resort (opened Dec. 2016) with only 50 rooms. Zoetry met all of our expectations, and provided us with a wonderful luxuriant stay. The resort was so complete, so pleasant. The room was well appointed, and maintained spotlessly daily. Great rain-shower feature. Very, very comfortable bed! Mini bar stocked daily with juice, water, sodas, snacks and rum. Restaurants were gourmet for all meals. No buffets. ALL meals and drinks are personally prepared. Breakfast menu didn't vary much, but each dinner brought new offerings. Waterside dining was fabulous every evening. There is also a Tapas/piano bar available for a less formal setting if you so wish. It's all designed for healthy living. If you came to graze for 20 hours a day, you probably won't like it. Note: Jerky Joe's, the lunch bar, was a delight every day. . . Beach was peaceful, a splendid view. Plenty of cabanas for the guests. Pool was beautiful as well. Nicely suited for the size of the resort. Consider: Even if the resort were filled to capacity, there would only be 100 guests there. . . Yeah, private. A reef protects the property from the ocean, creating a calm bay in which to do watersports, swim, or hang out on the pier. . I spotted about 10 different species of fish from the pier, speaking to the natural health of the water. The lasting impression I had was that the resort Never Says No. . . That is a fabulous way to vacation. Many thanks Zoetry for the unforgettable stay that we dreamed of. . .
We visited for a quick 4 night end of summer trip. Having visited Zoetry in the Dominican and Isla Mujeres, we were very excited to discover the newest member of the Zoetry family. At check in and throughout our trip Kanisha was awesome. After lunch at Jerky Joes (yes we loved it all 3 times we ate there) we got to our room. We had some issues so I went down and talked with Saul, the GM. Saul is an amazing person - not only because he fixed all my issues - but his story and history with AM resorts is truly remarkable. Saul is a genuine and honest person and AMresorts needs to know how incredibly lucky they are to have him! Having visited 8 AMresorts and having been through the UVC presentation a few years back, we requested to be presented with current options. We did join UVC at the planitum level on this trip and It is because of Saul that we choose to join on this trip. This resort is still new and some of the staff need more work to get to the Zoetry service level, but Stanley, Geovaughny, Barbara, and Ralston have it figured out. Fabian our butler did improve the last half of our trip but the butlers just were not at the level of those in the Dominican. For the most part the food was very good - still can't beat Isla Mujeres! Our maid service in our room was excellent - speaking of rooms, we stayed in the Master Suite which was amazing!!! The bed was so comfortable and showers always hot. Our only complaint on departure was our last night we ordered room service at 11:00 having not eaten much for dinner - finally at 12:30 we cancelled it and went to bed hungry. No clue what he issue was and never received an explanation. The entertainment was nice - the fire breather, singer and sax player all were good. The best was the piano song along in the Polo Bar - this place was never busy and had great bacon pizza!!!! The snorkel tour was great - as good as the paid one my husband went on. The beach - yep not so great but the scenery is beautiful! Yes Jamaica is laid back and overall I had no issues with the speed of things. Once a few additional kinks are worked out and some more of the staff figure out the level of service expected, this will be an awesome resort.
This was a first time vacation for a new (6 month old) relationship. Boy, did it deliver! The staff could not have been any more accommodating. Our butler, Miguel, took it to a whole other level as far as service was concerned. We booked the private dinner on the Pavilion (highly recommend for romance). we had asked if it was possible to get some music out on the water. Miguel told us late in that afternoon that he wasn't having much luck but would come up with something. While we were out on the water with our wonderful waiter, Tashone who was meeting our every need - suddenly a beautiful a cappella voice came from behind - Miguel was singing for us!!! Tears came to my eyes, it was so perfect. Above and beyond! Our room had a lovely view of the ocean from the balcony. The balconies are not the ones Zoetry puts on their website but they are nice and functional. Service was incredible. Towels were changed a few times a day, mini fridge replenished a few times a day, room was a good size with adequate closets, drawers, etc. The restaurant choices were good, food was good and it seemed like they were always trying to shake it up a bit with theme nights and celebrations. Live music played at dinner, sometimes breakfast, there was a trio at lunch time by the pool. The pool area is small but stunning. If I had to mention anything not perfect, it was that Zoetry tries to maintain an aura of wellness and tranquility. This is hard to achieve with planes taking off from the nearby airport every 1/2 hour. I wish I could say you get used to it but we didn't. This is a small boutique hotel that focuses on service and pampering.
The resort was wonderful and I was one of the fortunate few that arrived on their opening day 12/23/16 and it did not disappoint in the service and accommodations area. The staff was amazing!! The special perk was having a personal butler assigned to each suite and our Butler Orion was outstanding and he went above and beyond each day. The Chef's prepared excellent meals each day and the meals were freshly prepared and top notch taste. The room was amazing and faced the ocean. The only thing is the beach area is very small, but wonderful if you don't like large crowds, it was just what we expected. Special thanks to all the restaurant staff and the resort Manager Isabel, who was fantastic with a caring and professional attitude. Each guest was made to feel as if they were the only ones there. Looking forward to another visit. Being there was like being on a private Island.
