Zoetry Montego Bay Grand Opening

The resort was wonderful and I was one of the fortunate few that arrived on their opening day 12/23/16 and it did not disappoint in the service and accommodations area. The staff was amazing!! The special perk was having a personal butler assigned to each suite and our Butler Orion was outstanding and he went above and beyond each day. The Chef's prepared excellent meals each day and the meals were freshly prepared and top notch taste. The room was amazing and faced the ocean. The only thing is the beach area is very small, but wonderful if you don't like large crowds, it was just what we expected. Special thanks to all the restaurant staff and the resort Manager Isabel, who was fantastic with a caring and professional attitude. Each guest was made to feel as if they were the only ones there. Looking forward to another visit. Being there was like being on a private Island.

opening resort experience

The resort is small and quiet so if that is your objective than this is the place for you to relax in the sun. The beach front is very small and the water is very shallow and still due to the reef that surrounds the entire resort. However, warm, salty ocean water is amazing at any depth. The pool area is pretty and looks out to the blue ocean however, shallow as well. No hot tub on premise that I could find. Some first floor rooms have pools but only one faces the sun so the others are very cold and shady. The room amenities are modern, comfortable and clean! The spa was not fully open, nor was the gym. However, we were able to schedule a private group yoga class earlier in the morning that fit our ability and preference for time. This accommodation was great! The drinks were great for an all inclusive! Some of the best quality liquor that I have ever seen available. The food was very good for the most part. However, for a "wellness" spa it was sometimes challenging to get enough veggies which I found interesting. The service is slow by American standards but probably fast by Jamaican standards. The staff were friendly and tried their best, as they were still learning menus, etc. There are three restaurants on site and only 1-2 open at any given time so by 5 days you have tried everything at least once on the menu's. Overall value was good due to our great deal for an opening resort. I would not pay full price for this resort until they have been up and running for many months.

Underwhelmed

My husband and I have stayed at a variety of luxury resorts and Zoetry Montego Bay over promised their amenities by a long shot. To be fair, the resort is STILL under construction however even when complete there isn't much to do there. The beach was VERY disappointing - it seemed like they had sandbags under the sand and the water was super shallow. It felt like they excavated to create a beach. The gym currently lives in a guest room and the spa opened on the second to last day we were there. We didn't bother to check it out. Two restaurants that alternate for dinner No buffet options Room service menu is limited One bar (it's in the lobby by reception) A jerk chicken bar open midday on the beach - this is probably the thing we enjoyed the most!
