We had so much fun at the Westin. We did the ll inclusive package and the food was amazing. One night we had poor service, but I think it was because there was a VIP table that showed up and everyone was trying to please them. The all inclusive was the way to go especially since we had our fair share. The room was nice and the beach was beautiful.
We stayed for , 8 days July 23-July31, 2015. The staff was amazing-very friendly and wanted to please the guest. We never did not have a drink in our hand or at the table. Best drinks I have had at a resort in a very long time. The room was good- large shower/bathroom and the bed & pillow were like home. I wish the resort had more dining options for dinner. Also the resort did not exchange any money and we had to find a bank (bring your passport to exchange money now in Mexico). A second swim up bar would of been great as well. Not to bad on the local folks for selling things at the beach. My husband and daughters we were able to find a local fisherman at the resort to take them out deep sea fishing for 5 hrs at 250.00 vs 800.00. We did 3 trips all were good but the sail boat was the best small group and the staff again was great!!! Cant speak enough of the staff on all parts. Stay away from the mass group tours- too many crazy people. Over all it was great- the Westin was close to airport and the pier. We will be returning & using CheapCaribbean again to book our family summer vacation. Thank you
This property was probably at one time a four-star experience. We paid extra for a superior ocean-view balcony or terrace room, The view was nice but you should know there are two high rise condo/vacation club buildings that sit between the hotel building and the beach. So a better description would be a pool-view. Although, we could see what little beach there is at this property, in the distance. 'Pleasant but not as good as expected. The room was average size. Furniture showed a lot of wear including cigarette burns on the single upholstered chair. No sofa or other seating other than a token desk chair. Bedding and linens were par for a Westin property. We opted for the all-inclusive option which was a good value considering the hotel's location and taxi distance to eat elsewhere. However, there is only one restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu doesn't change from day to day. There's a pool bar and restaurant that we did enjoy for lunch. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon which I wouldn't recommend. The A-team must have that day off as the service and food in the restaurant were disappointing. The buffet breakfast is the best dining of the day. There is a nicer restaurant that is not included in the package we bought and only open weekends. There is no live entertainment other than pool activities. 'Lots of Mexican families and their kids seemed to enjoy themselves. Live and learn.
Overall a great value for what we paid. Very impressed by the meals, especially for an all-inclusive. I wish they had more planned activities (ie yoga, volleyball etc.), but the pool and beach are were very relaxing nonetheless.
The Westin Hotel and Resort in Puerto Vallarta was the ideal choice for our annual anniversary trip. We really could not have asked for more. The scenery and décor throughout the resort was amazing. Our Deluxe Ocean Suite had a private balcony with a great view of the ocean and the city and was very stylish and comfortable and most of all the service throughout the resort was superb. It is a very peaceful relaxing environment. In the evenings, it was not a party kind of atmosphere, but rather it was very quiet and serene, so we went downtown to when we wanted to "turn up". We truly felt we got our money's worth with our Cheap Caribbean all-Inclusive package, which takes the stress out of vacationing on a budget. We highly recommend this resort and will likely return someday with our kids as it is also very family friendly.
Overall, we were not impressed at all with our stay. People are always trying to sell you something to the point of harassment! The hotel did not have s big food selection. The employees hardly understood English which makes no sense in a place that survives off of English tourism. We will not be returning to Mexico.
