Nice but not the best for the money

We enjoyed our trip considering we went during the rainy season, which we did not know when booking. The hotel is very nice and so are those representatives that worked at the front desk. We upgraded to the swim-up suite when we got there because it was alot cheaper than doing it when you book your trip. The rooms are wonderful, very clean and colorful. And they restock your mini bar every morning and turn down your sheets for you at nite. There is basically only one restuarant besides the buffet that is located on your hotel property...the other nice restuarants are located on their sister hotel's property, which isn't far...walking distance. SPICE was by far our favorite Resturant... it is just like Japanese Steakhouse but better! Casino is located in the same area...we had alot of fun there. They also have bowling, movie theatre and lots of entertainment nitely! The pools and beach were the best part...you not only get your property pools are bars but also the sister hotel's pools and bars...Drinks were amazing by the way! Bad Parts: Some of the buffet food was okay but for the most part we did not enjoy it and too many flies! We even got pushed outside when we got to the breakfast buffet just before they closed it...they wouldn't even let us sit down inside because they were ready to start moving everything for lunch. The rooms were nice but we did have a problem with our sheets and pillows smelling like mildew from being washed and set out. And Service was okay but half the people just acted like they hated there jobs. And the food on the room service menu was not that great. We have traveled to three different places in the Carribbean this year and we have also stayed at the Secrets Silversand in Rivera Maya, which was amazing!!! This hotel is very nice but was not as nice as the one we stayed at in Rivera Maya...

Beautiful vacation spot

Everything was wonderful - the resort, the beach, the sand, the water, the trees! I would definately recommend this resort to others and visit it myself again. I highly recommend the speed boat excursion and coral reef snorkeling. The restaurant service and wait staff are top notch. My only qualms (which are nit-picky) : the food is not the greatest, and the beach wait staff rarely came around to our palapa(maybe once or twice all day). Also, we went in late May, and it was cloudy almost everyday. However, the weather did not prevent us from enjoying the trip.

secrets royal beach

This was our second time at a Secrets resort ad we had pretty high expectations of this hotel, especially since it is in such a nice location. We were aware that the hotel had changed from NH to Secrets recently, but still this resort left a lot to be desired. Food was not very good. Restaurants are hot and most of them are in the adjacent resort. The spa is not exactly what you would expect from a Secrets. They still need a long way to go..we would not go back.

Secrets Punta Cana is AMAZING!!!!

Wonderful, relaxing vacation. Emaculate facilities and polite excellent service personnel. Great quick get away. Wish we stayed longer (tried to increase stay but rates sky rocketed from our amazing deal). Restaurant wait at all but buffet were crazy long. And when we were finally seated, all of the restaurants were maybe 1/2 full. Think the problem was there was not enough wait staff to use all the tables at once. Definite deterent, waiting hours to eat dinner. But overall a fabulous experience. Would be nice to put a few fans in the temporary make-shift gym. Couldn't work out at all because it was too hot.

Awesome Time

This was our first trip together to the Caribbean and my first to an all inclusive resort...I got to tell you, Secrets Royal Beach changed my perception of vacation. I will never go non-inclusive again if at all possible. The service at Secrets was just top notched...wait staffs were always attentive and cheery...always asking how you are doing and making sure that your water/juice never get half way down the glass. I did wish that they provided floaties for the pool area.

Paradise!

Secrets Royal Beach was absolutely beautiful. Grounds are extra clean, beach was beautiful and pool was great. Nice and quiet and relaxing with NO KIDS! It was also great that you get access to the Now Lamir Resort that has kids for more resturants and entertainment. The workers were so friendly even though most of them had no clue what your talking about. The rooms were nice the only thing i didnt like is they clean your room late sometimes after four or five and at that time im ready to shower from the beach or pool. Had to call once to get a maid up since it was after four. The only thing I think that would make the resort better is if they had a class for their employees to learn at least the basics of English so they could understand a little more. Would definately recommend this resort to my friends and would definately return!

No surprises

Great vacation spot if you just want to kick back, relax, sun and enjoy life. Would recommend a third floor room and as far from lobby as possible. If you don't mind have everyone watching you a swim up room by the lazy river is nice, otherwise the third floor provides much more privacy. Buffet was excellent (only ate there for breakfast and lunch) and ala carte restaurants were okay, but then again, I did not travel here for five star dining. Really, the only one that was mediocre was the french restaurant. Nice to be on the adult only side as the swim up bar could be a little rowdy. All in all, we really enjoyed the comfort and service at SRB. Would rather come back here than go to either Cozumel or Cancun, but then again, it is much more laid back.

Secrets Royal Beach

We went to this resort July 25-31 for our honeymoon. Everything was very clean and the service was great. The only complaint is that the room service was really slow. We ordered a bottle of champagne one night and it took 50 min for it to arrive. The room service food isn't too great either but it is comvenient if you really don't want to go to a restaurant. Also, the housekeeping isn't very consistent but it wasn't too bad. The pools and pool/beach bar are excellent. The bartenders and wait staff are great! They are always laughing, dancing, doing anything to have fun while working. No one really expects tips but they are geniunely greatful when they are tipped. The Domincan culture and people are amazing. I would highly recommend this resort and Punta Cana.

secrets punta cana

The resort is beautiful and well cared for. I went with two twenty year old kids, I am 60. We loved the pool which is mainly a beautiful flowing stream that traverses throughout the beach front hotel. It also has a swim up bar that is nice and very busy throughout the day. The meals are served from 3 restaurants which we would give 4.5/5 stars. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool closed at 7 pm which we thought was a bit early, but they do provide nightly entertainment and it is their hope people attend. The showers around the pool do not work well and we recommended that they attend to that. One can do any water activity from their beach front, either by hotel provided arrangements or buying from the beach vendors. We parasailed for 50$ for two which was the least expensive that we have ever paid. We also tried deep sea fishing and didn't get a single bite, that was $40 for people that didn't fish and 70 for the one that did, again very inexpensive compared to other resorts we have been to. We had massages and facials at the spa and we were very pleased with these services. They are currently rebuilding their spa and fitness center so they do have a makeshift facility for these services, hence the coupons for 40 off spa services. All in all we rank this resort 4.5/5 stars.
