We have been to the Wyndham 2 times now. We love the atmosphere, the staff is very friendly. We did learn that if you start out tipping well you get exceptional service. We paid the extra so we could get a room on the Sabor (adults only) side. It is worth it!! We met quite a few people who come there every year. The food is not the best we have had but it is not the worst either. The specialty Italian restaurant is almost impossible to get into unless you want to get up at 6:00 am and stand in line to make a reservation. They could use another restaurant. We would gladly go there again. There are guest from 20 years old to 70 years old and we all enjoyed each others company.
I had the most relaxing time just laying by the pool. The service was great, like clockwork the staff came by to remind me to put on sunscreen and to bring me drinks and snacks. The entertainment staff was very engaging. They also helped to arrange outings for me to see and experience Cozumel at its best. The spa quite relaxing and tranquil.
We went here for our honeymoon. The grounds are beautiful, staff was wonderful. They are still working on getting their beach cleaned from the hurricane. Great food. There is a tequila shop there that is amazing! Jeep tour was one of our favorites.
The food was great compared to other places I've stayed and the pools were so-so. We had to walk quite a ways to the larger pool and to the beach, but we till enjoyed the smaller pool by our building. The place is HUGE and there are a lot of people that are ready to hound you about buying a timeshare - luckily we avoided those people! The price was right and the experience was worthwhile. It seemed to really work for families as well!
This Hotel was absolutely one of the best I have ever stayed. The rooms were great. The restaurants were very tasty. We stayed in Azul and it was wonderful. Loved the fact that it was all adult. Everyone went out of their way to be accomadating. I will be back in November and have told all my friends about your wonderful hotel. Thanks for making my vacation one I will always remember
The Cozumel Resort and Spa was a good place to stay due to the caring staff. The food in the dining room was always tasty with a great patio to enjoy while eating. Breakfast on the patio turned out to be my favorite meal since the view was astonishing. The room I stayed in had a standard set up (bed, sofa, television) but the A/C wasn't worth a darn since it wasn't pulling the humidity out of the room. The humidity in my room is the only downside that I had on my trip to Cozumel but I wouldn't let that stop me from staying in the resort again. The pleasant staff was is what made the stay worthwhile and completing my first Ironman competition made the trip priceless.
I stayed at the Wyndham Cozumel in August 2009 for a last minute dive vacation. Good location about 10km south of town, short boat ride from the hotel dock to the good diving areas. Accomodations were basic, yet comfortable. Not a luxurious resort, but for the low price I was paying, I got more than my money's worth. Friendly staff at the dive shop and decent rental equipment.
We celebrated thanksgiving here this year and had a great time! We went for a beach wedding which was very nicely done- they provided a nice reception area as well as a beautiful ceremony. The beach was beautiful & offered many free activities. Great snorkeling right outside of hotel. Pool was nice as well but didn't spend as much time there. We stayed on Sabor side which is def recommended- they had an extra restaurant which was VERY good! Rooms were nice- Great service & great atmosphere! Would def recommend staying here!
First off the food was pretty bad. It was edible but not enjoyable. The staff didn't really serve us at all, during breakfast/lunch/dinner we routinely had to find our own silverware, get our own drinks, etc. Looking for water? There are large 5 gallon jugs outside each villa that you're supposed to use for drinking water. I've been to another resort where bottled water was free and it was delivered by room service at your request. Also there is no hot tub which we thought was a major bummer. Don't bother using the bathroom anywhere other than your room, the bathrooms by the lobby, pool, and entrance all smell terrible, are soaking wet (understandable by the pool but not the others) and poorly serviced (stall doors busted, toilets broken). We also felt like we were constantly getting ripped off. At our jeep rental in front of the hotel and at the bars around cozumel. The high note was the beach, it was really nice and had some good snorkeling. Water was excellent and the swim up bar was a lot of fun.
The major disappointment was the food. The food at the grill was often reheated burgers and cold frys. The buffet had no "real" Mexican food, they cater very much to those with blane tastebuds. When traving to another country I like to enjoy their food. The beach was beautiful and everyone was freindly. It is hhopefully in a state of updating the rooms.
