Our stay at the Royalton was a horrible experience. The hotel was still under a lot of construction and we did not receive a Diamond Club service. As a matter of fact the Diamond Club (separate section on the resort) was not even open. We took pictures of all the machines and construction in our path. Upon check in, it took us 3 hours to get a room and they put us in a regular Royalton building with zero upgrades. There were no perks at all. Not all the Restaurants were open either. We paid for access to those as well. Our choices for dinner were very limited. We ate at the buffet most nights. I refuse to pay for a Diamond Club service especially when it was not provided. Hence the reason for this review. How can you advertise something and charge folks in the interim on something you cannot provide? Worst experience ever and we travel a lot. It was a complete waste of money and vacation time. As per our last conversation with cheap Caribbean, we were told that the resort was fully completed and ready for us. They were far from that stage. We've always trusted and used Cheap Caribbean for our vacations and we would certainly hate to end this relationship. We have contacted cheap Caribbean the moment we returned home. It has been 1 week and still waiting for a response from upper management. Funny how they immediately respond when they want your money, and now that a complaint is filed, you can't hear back from anyone. Hopefully they do the right thing before we have to seek legal advice.

Nice but shady staff

The resort is very beautiful and clean. We stayed in one of the swim up suites in the Royalton. There were four of us on this trip in two separate rooms. Checking in was not terrible, we had a staff member take us to our room and explained the hotel as we were shown to our room. Which was nice until she would not stop trying to get us to go to an hour and a half long seminar to get a free weeks vacation anywhere Royaltons are located. She did not stop about this for about 20 minutes and at this point we told her we would go to get her out of our room. Well while she was in our room she kept fumbling with stuff on the tv stand and dropping things which we first thought she was just clumsy. About ten minutes after she left we noticed my husbands Oakley sunglasses were gone. Mind you he had them on him when we walked into the room and we did not go anywhere. When asked about them we were told they were misplaced. At this point we were tired and wanted to enjoy vacation. The next issue we come to find out was the other room we booked with them was not given to the couple that came with us. They did not tell us until four hours after checking in which is on us because we did not say anything from the start but I booked certain rooms for a reason. After having dinner my husband and I went back to our room and placed the DO NOT DISTURB sign on our door because we were annoyed with the sunglasses issue and wanted left alone. We were in the swim out pool at 9pm at night and this staff person barges in. When my husband confronted the girl about why she was in there. All she could say was she making sure our bed was made. My husbands like no why are you in here she turned and quickly left. My husband and i were livid. All we keep getting told it was an accident and they were just doing their job. We decided to keep the do not disturb up the rest of the week and refused service to our room but that DID NOT happen. What is really sad and annoying is not only did they take sunglasses but they took stupid random stuff as well. I did have it when i got there, I did check the trash, and I looked again when i got home but they took a hairbrush, bottoms of a swimsuit and underarm deodorant. That to me was stupid piddly stuff but whatever. Another thing that gave me concern was my husband and i would take a nap for about an hour or so a day. Well we STILL HAD DO NOT DISTURB ON THE DOOR and also put the metal bracket over the door so if they opened the door it would be stopped by that piece. They would seriously beat the door in until the latch would bounce back and they could get in. My husband yelled at them multiple times to leave and get out and they acted shocked we were there. The front desk usually was not very helpful if you asked them for anything they would usually say sorry we do not have it, it was a mistake,or no. Another annoyance was they would get really short with people if they showed up early to their reservations for dinner but would then say dont go far because you will be seated next. The other couple that came with us did not have any issues like we did but I honestly think it was because everything was paid for and booked in mine and my husbands name and we did book 2 suites and out paperwork showed what we paid. Coming back to the women trying to sell us time shares for the seminar. She literally stopped by our room once to make sure we was going to our scheduled time then when we did not show she called our room wanting to know why did not go and tried to schedule us for another one. My husband finally told her we our on vacation and we do meetings for work and we will not be doing them while we are on vacation. I get that is another way for those people to make money but that is not what is going to make me and my husband want to go to it. Also on the last day before we left to go back state side. We came back to the room our safe was unlocked and wide open which had money and our passports in it. Our passports and some money was still in there but you could tell they went through it and took some of the money. Lastly another thing which is ridiculous is if you get resort credit it is in like a tiny coupon book and one of them is for a room upgrade but you have to use it before you get to your room. They DO NOT give the book to you until you are in your room. If the resort did not steal and constantly try breaking into our room it would have been great. As a country it is beautiful and most of the people were friendly and willing to help you but it was the few bad people that really hurt this hotel. I highly recommend the country not the hotel.

dont be fooled

What they tell you you're going to get is never really what they give you. First off, the resort is a two hour winding taxi journey away from the airport. Once you stomach that, you get to a visually stunning resort. Swanky music playing in the background, welcome drinks, cool towels, checkin and they take your bags to your room. The room is gorgeous but doesn't function well. Wifi was weak, AC was unadjustable so it was hot every night. The other family we were with ordered a tea with lemon and honey through room service and it took two Hours for it to come. And when it came. It was a tea bag. No water. No honey. No lemon. The food was terrible. The steakhouse was terrible. The Tex mex was ok. The hibachi was the best. It was beautiful to the eye. Pools were great and views were great. SO HERES THE WORST PART. Everyone and I mean every st Lucia local is kind and warm and welcoming. A couple we met were exceptionally welcoming and spent two days showing us around the island and welcoming us into their home. They were the saints. As a thank you we bought a one day pass at the royalton and the royalton gave us another one for free since we had so many issues during our stay there to gift the lovely couple. Today our dear friend Leo called to let us know that the resort is not respecting their word to us. And is not allowing the selfless st Lucian couple onto the resort. They lied to us. THIS ROYALTON RESORT WILL LIE TO YOU FROM THE DAY YOU GET THERE TO THE DAY YOU LEAVE. JUST SAYIN.

Never recommend to go to Royalton Saint Lucia

. Power went off in the room it took 3 hours to fix after calling several times, power outlet never got fixed Room service sucks if you ask something you will get it after 2 hours not something you ordered you will get something else Staff are nice they don't have correct answers, if you ask same question to 3 people you will get 3 different answers If they promise something get it on writing otherwise when you go back they don't have any clue about it Staff are not good with computers and emails , if you send an email they don't know what they doing when they forward email don't include attachments They never email back unless send you several emails There is no phones anywhere else other than in the room There is no clock anywhere in the resort There is no free indoor pool There is one but you have to pay Only thing I liked is there were Wi-Fi all over the resort I wouldn't recommend anyone to go to Royalton at SainT Lucia

Great Resort

Great place, great value. Large food selection, mostly very good. Service sometimes can be a little slow but we only had one instance that was extreme. Solid 1 1/2 to 2 hours from airport by taxi.

This hotel is beautiful and clean, a little bit of construction still happening but nothing that interrupted our trip. This Royalton only gets a 4 out of 5 even though with a few tweaks it can def be a 5 star resort. You guys just need more activities and louder music being played throughout the day to get guests more involved. This is also needed every single night for entertainment. Even if you guys just put on skits at night for families it would make a major difference. The food was amazing compared to other resorts I've traveled to. Felt more like getting a taste of everything here. Typically when I travel I don't want to eat American food the stuff I am use to back home I want to experience the culture and Royalton St lucia knocked it out the park with the options. Before coming I read reviews of people saying food took forever and I can agree at times it took a tad longer but nothing as ridiculous as I read about 2 hours or so. The rooms are beautiful and comfy felt like paradise even though we didn't spend much time in the rooms. The staff made sure to clean the rooms each day an restock the mini fridge as well as come in at night for turn down service which was pretty neat. They would come in and take all the decorative pillows and shams off the beds so you good sleep comfortably. Overall I enjoyed myself just thought those were a few things to fix. Thank you for a wonderful stay otherwise Royalton.

If I had the chance to do it again I would !

Great hotel ! The people there were awesome! Workers were always happy and ready to help ! The hotel staff made us feel very welcomed also a part of a family . The hotel was very well kept always clean . I would definitely recommend this hotel to family's , couples and friends !

Royalton Rocks

My wife and I stayed at Royalton St. Lucia in September 2017. I booked an Ocean View Jr. Suite and the view was fantastic. The room was well appointed and reasonably spacious. Check-in was painless and speedy. There was a definite push to attend the one hour sales pitch to buy into the travel/timeshare. We agreed. We attended. Didn't buy but made a new friend in the process. The true test of the hotel and its staff happened on the third night of our stay. We visited the steak house and were told that there would be a one hour wait. When we returned we were told that the restaurant would be closing because the dishwasher had broken. All the waiting patrons were understandably upset because it was too late to get into the other restaurants. At that point, the General Manager, Ricardo Esteban, took control of the situation. He walked the unfed masses into the exclusive club seafood restaurant and had us taken care of. A bottle of wine, a fruit basket, a note of apology and guaranteed reservations to the steak house for the following night were delivered to our rooms. Ricardo was there to greet us all and insure that we were well taken care of. Beautiful hotel, friendly staff great restaurants. Good time.

Beautiful Resort

I stayed at the Royalton St. Lucia resort from October 15, 2017 - October 20, 2017 (raining season). This is one of the most beautiful/cleanest resort Ive ever stayed in. Although it has its pros and cons. The PROS: Beautiful resort, food was could of been better, but wasn't so bad, huge pools. CONS: Resort is at least 2 hours away from the airport BUT you get to see the gorgeous island (so this is a pro & con). There could of been more food option, the jerk chicken I ordered at the food cart was not cooked fully, entertainment is lacking during the day especially if it rains. The "bartenders" are very slow, many of them did not really know how to make a simple drink. The drinks were VERY weak., the bartenders were very nice though. Another thing, they would ALWAYS run out of something at the bars, like mint or even cups! The beach is tiny, we spent most of our time at the pools. I highly recommend doing the Buggy Adventure in St Lucia. It was fun and one of the best!
