We've stayed at the Royal Suites twice in the last 3 years, both times in the original section. I won't call it the "old" section, as I believe the RS only opened about 5 years ago. I may be wrong on that, but they certainly aren't old. What's so terrific? Being in a small-ish exclusive section of a much larger resort gives you all of the options, or hang out by the RS pool for peace, quiet and great service. Dining choices are many, with RS guests given preferential reservations (basically whenever you want) and upgraded wine options at any restaurant in the resort. Having many more top shelf alcohol options, including aged anejo. Add to that many smaller additions like room service and the Royal Gourmet restaurant and it'll equal a good value, great service, wonderful location vacation.
To begin with our accomadations were absolutely luxurious !! The pools looked quite inviting ( although we never made into any of those ) ! We enjoyed the private beach area daily. One of our most treasured memories was the parasailing venture that we booked right there on the beach ! The views from above were breath taking ! We would love to go back, and would recommend it to anyone !
This Resort was friendly, clean and on top of their game! We would definately go back. We went with our 18 year old daughter and her friend. They had a blast as did we. Plenty to do day and night!
Having never been to the Caribbean, we thought we'd do it up so we didn't later wonder if we'd have liked it better if only we'd sprung for a better place. Whoa!! This place blew away our expectations! First let me say that the food and accomodations were awesome, but having never stayed in a resort-we had no frame of reference for if this is typical (but can't see how anyplace could match this one!). Everything was clean and sanitary, beautiful rooms, etc. We loved having fresh fruit & veggies every meal, awesome seafood, lots of specialty items to try-it was really just fantastic! We can honestly say that the Royal Suite's biggest asset was their staff-every single person we met was just incrediblly helpful and kind-sincerely, and genuinely! We never felt "tolerated" or like "touristas"-quite the opposite! Staff were always amazingly friendly and so appreciative at our meager attempts at Spanish, but were fluent in every language spoken to them. How is that even possible? In addition, the shows were really fun; the beach was incredible; and the grounds & pools were just beautiful. We felt safe, and well cared for every step of the way! We just can't say enough nice things about this place. We have already recommended it to everyone we know!
The resort is well maintained. The staff is curtious and friendly. The rooms are clean and in great shape. The beach is spotless. The water spectacular! Highly recommended! Thanks to Juan, Nigel, Tomas, Gabina and Manuel for making our stay exceptional!
With more restaurants than one could imagine (14 I believe), and 3 buffets too boot, what's not to like about the Royal Suites Turquesa by Palladium in Punta Cana. We arrived at Punta Cana airport, and once we had our baggage, we went to Turinter booth and in less than a minute, we were escorted to our van to take us to the Palladium. Once there, we checked in at the lobby, but since our plane was a few hours earlier than the normal 3 pm check-in, we enjoyed our first meal at the buffet for the Royal Suites. A perfect ending to a trip that started for us at 6am. The buffet was excellent with a menu that would match some of our better restaurants in the States. Our room was the Royal Junior Suite Deluxe. It was indeed deluxe. A canopied bed, great jacuzzi, shower was spacious. The room was really clean, although a musty smell once we arrived but that quickly evaporated once we moved around inside. (We were on the 2nd floor, but next time we will pay a little extra for a swim-up room.) On the first floor there was a desk for our "butler". If we encountered any problems, we just presented them to the butler and he took care of it for us. No phone calls to make on our part, just tell the butler. What could be easier than that. A word about the resort staff. In our 5 nights there, we met only one person that was a little surly. Coming from Brooklyn, we are used to most everyone being surly. So one out of an estimated 75 or more, that's not bad at all. The staff was very informative, courteous and always smiled as we passed them on the streets. They made us feel comfortable. Will we go back, you bet. As a matter of fact, I'm planning on taking my wife there on her birthday next year. This will be our third trip to Punta Cana, with this one the best of the three. Sorry I rambled on and on but when something is as good as the Palladium resort, I could continue praising this place. Thanks for reading. Jimmyg8138
My husband and I recently returned from the Royal Suites Turquesa by Pallidium. We stayed one week and it was perfect. It's a large place, but there seems to be a place for everyone. If you choose to be with a lot of people in a party atmosphere, there is an area here for you. Or, if you just want to relax in a quiet spot with a beautiful pool and relaxing atomosphere, they have that here also. Our favorite spot was the pool area where the swim out rooms are located. This seems to be cleaner and prettier than any of the other pools. It almost seemed private because there were about 2 or 3 other couples in this entire area. Maybe not too many people know about this area. Once we found out it was hard to go anywhere else. There were plenty of empty beds and lounge chairs with shade. The food here was not the best but it was O.K. We always found something we liked. Drinks were very good, top shelf liquor but sometimes they run out of a particular liquor. The only thing I can complain about is that because it's such a big property, if you don't like walking a lot, the only alternative are the golf carts. The golf cart drivers are supposed to take you anywhere you want to go. Our experience was that when you saw one and asked them to take you somewhere they would say they're not on duty or tell us to ask the other guy to take you. Many times the golf carts would be going in the same direction as you but still just pass by you and not stop. Overall, it was a wonderful vacation and we defininitely would go back to this place.
This resort was amazing! It completely exceeded my expectations on every level. Everything and anything we asked for was granted. We asked for an upgrade to a swim-up suite, which we got, and was totally worth the little extra. The only complaint I do have is with Olympus tours; they are the third party representative between you and Cheap Caribbean. They are supposed to arrange for your pickup from the airport, help you book any excursions you want to do while in the Dominican, and arrange your pick up from the hotel back to the airport. They picked us up fine, but our representative, Frank, from Olympus who was supposed to help us book and plan things was horrible! He was never around and very unhelpful. We ended up getting a different rep towards the end of our stay, who made sure our ride back to the airport was all set, something Frank hadn't done! All in all I have no complaints with the resort. Again, my only issue was Olympus tours, but that's a cheap Caribbean issue, not a resort issue :)
Royal Suites Turquesa is the adult-only part of the greater Grand Palladium resort. The beach, the rooms, the drinks - everything is fine and enjoyable. The main issue with this resort is food. RST only offers a la carte lunch and dinner. Of course the guests can also use the buffets at the main Palladium section, but those buffets are not up the RST standards. The food in two a la cartes for RST (French and Royal Gourmet) was very uneven in quality - sometimes very good, sometimes not good at all... Even the same dish ordered on different days could vary from outstanding to horrible. Overall, however, RST food was much better than Palladium buffets. If you like good meat and seafood, then RST had much better selection than Palladium (lobster, clams, Angus beef, smoked salmon, prociutto, etc). Limiting RST guests to a la carte dining (unless one goes to an inferior Palladium buffet) is very inconvenient. It was such a drag to have to change from beachwear in order to go to lunch, and then sit and wait and wait and wait while your order it taken and cooked... It subtracted hours from the limited vacation time. I enjoy a la carte experience in general, but I want to have an option to go just to a buffet occasionally, especially during lunch! The drawback of "only a la carte" was most evident during Christmas dinner. While the guests at Palladium enjoyed a great buffet that had lobster, and turkey, and suckling pig, and fish, and steak, and many other things, the guests at RST had to choose ONE dish. It's very limiting, and if you don't like the dish they give you (e.g., my steak was overcooked), you'll have to order another one and wait again while it's getting prepared... Very inconvenient!
For those wanting a kid free, quiet resort, this is the place. Food was excellent. Wine quality without buying a bottle poor. Food Room service left a little to be desired Will go again.
