Booked this trip with very short notice. Getting from the airport to the resort was ok. Just don't fall for the tricks they try to pull on you at the airport like selling tours or presentations. The resort itself was a nice experience, very clean, friendly service, food average but good. Drinks good and plenty (all inclusive). A nice spot to just relax and rejuvenate. Did not like the timeshare presentation and next time we will simply not attend it. Being a world traveller I missed some "genuine" atmosphere in the evening, but I guess I was spoiled in South America and Asia. Convenient distance from San Diego so we will be back. All the best Torben
great family vacation spot. lots to do. fun fun . great food & service.
This resort is located in the more tranquil San Jose del Cabo rather than the more populated Cabo San Lucas. It is closer to the airport and Cabo San Lucas can be easily reached via private or public transportation. The resort is beautiful and well maintained. The flowers are beautiful. It is all-inclusive so you don't have to worry about food. We alternated between the Marco Polo Restaurant, our favorite, and the Mexican Restaurant. There is also a nightly buffet which families tended to favor and it is served where the nightly entertainment took place. The food was excellent. The only reason I didn't give it 5 Palms was we've stayed at other places where there were more options. Service is very good. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you enjoy your vacation. We're looking forward to going back later this year after the rainy season ends.
This was our first trip after my wife has gone through Kemo and Radiation for cancer we had so much fun the resort and food was great. It was such a spirt builder for my wife. Thanks cheap caribbean you made our trip so easy. We will be traveling with you soon again.
Royal Solaris was my first all inclusive trip. The price for the trip through Cheap Carribean for hotel, airfare and meals was cheaper than just the all inclusive meal plan at Royal Solaris. The resort was beautiful. There was entertainment every evening, which was good, because the resort is a 30 minute drive from downtown Cabo San Lucas. The breakfast was excellent, the lunch was good and the dinner was fair. The beach was a no swim beach, but there were still a few that went out in the water, but stayed close to the shore. It was wonderful to lay on the lounge chairs on the beach. The pooI was a good size with plenty of room to swim around. I plan to travel to all inclusive resorts from now on. It's a perfect way to travel, especially when you travel with family and friends.
The first thing that comes to mind when I think of this resort is the fantastic massage and pedicure I received. It truly was the best deep-tissue massage I have gotten. We spent a portion of every day by the pool because of our 4-yr old, but the pool was gorgeous and had lots of fun activiities. This resort also offered a mini-water park for toddlers. The food and service was awesome. It was hard to get reservations for the two specialty restaurants on site, but most all-inclusive resorts are like that. It was also hard to get prime chairs by the pool, unless you wanted to get up at 5am to reserve them. The beach was gorgeous and the vendors were only allowed within a certain distance of the resort, so you didn't get bugged to buy anything, unless you wanted to be bugged. This resort was also within walking distance of downtown San Juan which is a very quaint town and worth the visit. We always felt safe walking outside the resort. Another con was that they only had wireless connectivity available in the lobby, so it wasn't very convenient. A definite Pro was that they had hospitality showers and lockers in the event you have a later flight and have to check out of your room. Bottom line: we're going back.
We had zero expectations when arriving at the Solaris and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was great, the place was clean and food was good. Great mojitos at the lobby bar and wonderful entertainment opportunities. Comfortable rooms, plenty of beach to walk, good volleyball games and a nice exercise facility. Who could ask for anything more? I want to return with my kids, I know they would love it too.
My girl friend and I recently stayed here for 5 days in early June. The trip was great and the hotel staff were excellent. After the first check-in sales pitch, we were never bothered again about any timeshares. It may have helped that we unplugged the phone to prevent to AM calls I read about in other reviews. The drinks are all great and plentifull. We found a small tip to the bartender or the waiter made the drinks very stiff, they'd also arrive almost too fast. The pool area was great, remember to put down towels and reserve a spot early for the choice spots. The pool water got a little dirty after our 3rd day there, perhaps the normal poolguy was gone? Either way, after a few drinks it didn't matter. The food was all great. We ate at them all, the buffets were great with a large variety and the specialy restaurants were good too. After 5 days we were ready for a change, but the food was still good. The bed was a tiny hard, but much better than most commuter hotels I stay in the rest of the year (~150+ nights at hotels per year). AC blew cold and the in-room stocked minifridge was a nice touch. The resort was so great, we never even left. I'd stay here again on another trip to San Jose del Cabo.
This isn't the most luxurious resort, but incredible prices, very fun staff, and decent food.
What an experience:) From the helpful hotel staff, scrumptious menu choices to entertainment for all ages and the convenient "kiddie pool", Royal Solaris was amazing. True, there are some kinks, but as a frequent traveler, I have yet to find a place that has been flawless. It is perfect for the money and just enough authenticity to feel like you are in Mexico with the States luxuries:)
