This was my frist trip to Belize and I can not wait to go back. I have been to several other resorts all over the Caribean through Cheapcaribean and this was the most expensive for the value still it was my favorite. While the resort is old and rough around the edges, I loved the atmosphere, the location and the service and that is why I would recommend it. In addition, the village of Placencia which is about 4 miles from the resort has excellent restaurants and shops which we enjoyed.
I cant say enough good things about this resort. The place is very casual and tropical complete with resident iguanas. The room was very spacious and casually decorated. The weather was very windy during our stay which stirred up things in the ocean preventing the pretty Caribbean blue colors and washing up some trash, but it was still nice. The resort staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, calling us by name. We enjoyed snorkeling and horseback riding through tours that the resort set up, and both were outstanding. There were a lot of complimentary services that we enjoyed including biking and yoga that were very nice. The yoga at the end of the pier every morning by a Certified instructor was awesome. Best yoga studio ever. The resort was about 4.5 miles from the village so we could bike to the village which we enjoyed. Food was fresh and delicious. We will use Cheapcaribbean again!
If you are looking for charm and relaxation Roberts Grove is the perfect place to visit. The resort is beautiful, well kept, and peaceful. I felt like I had the entire resort to myself, although there were over 55 guests. The free breakfast included fresh fruit, eggs to order, a variety of baked goods, fresh juice, and coffee. The resort is about 3 hours away from the major airport in Belize City, so you can choose to fly into Placencia or take a shuttle to the hotel. If this is your first visit to Belize I recommend taking a shuttle to the hotel from the airport so you can take in the beautiful views Belize has to offer. I would definitely stay at Roberts Grove again because of the laid back atmosphere.
I just wished that the resort at least even once change their breakfast menu. After the third day of eating boiled eggs and beans and potatoes, I skipped breakfast on the fourth day...
The room was clean and well maintained. The employees were easy to understand. They took very good care of us. The breakfast bar was well stocked and made fresh for us every morning. We were offered several trips and things to go do. The afternoon and evening meals were excellent. We went on a fishing trip and caught lots of fish. The resort fixed them for us several times. The meals were fantastic. Our only problem was the weather, we had lots of rain and wind which is not normal. We did have sunny days that more than made up for the rainy ones. Over all we enjoyed ourselves and plan on doing another trip.
This is a nice, clean, beachfront resort. It's small, only about 50-60 rooms. Nothing fancy, but is great if you want a cool place to stay when you are out exploring Belize. Rooms are good size, clean and comfortable. There is a hidden refrigerator in the bathroom. Breakfast is included and is great. Eggs cooked to order, along with two hot items, fruit, pastries, coffee and juice. Dinner is good at Robert's Grove and the restaurant Manager cares about good food/service The local cat Boots is sweet. Habanero restaurant across the street was decent. All employees here truly aim to please. Luis, beach manager, is super. Very knowledgeable and helpful. We used the sailboat and kayak. Relaxing. We didn't see manatees or crocodiles. Beach pier is pretty and hammock is nice. Henry helps find good excursions. A really good place for a morning coffee with sun up, over the ocean and calm waves and sand steps from deck. Short boat rides to many of the pretty Cayes and drivable to wet caves, zip lining, and stuff like that kept us busy. We used the golf cart at the resort for half a day, which was enough as town is small and close. We also used their bikes and besides them having awkwardly narrow seats, were a lot of fun. Also a local driver, Cameron, can shuttle you to local areas. The hotel can call him for you. Overall, nice place to visit. Reminder, bring lots of bug spray with heavy deet. Mosquitos are no joke.
