Riu Lupita is a small resort. Really more like a hotel. Very clean rooms and facilities, but the pool options were limited and the smoking throughout the resort was a little annoying. The staff was attentive and kind. This resort does not have direct access to the beach, you get shuttled from the resort to the beach which is roughly 5 minutes away. The beach is beautiful and enjoyable and Riu Lupita does have a bar there and again the staff is phenomenal. The Mexican restaurant was delicious and the buffet was decent. Breakfast was great. But again since it was a smaller resort the dining options were rather limited. The resort has two demographics, retired/retiring people and young families, no in between. Overall the experience was fair for the price.
overall good experience for the price beach wasnt as close as i thought, but shuttle was available. company rep was never to be seen,if i did have a problem i wouldnt be able to get assistance. rep should be onsite during all regular buiseness hours had to wait until 4pm on 3rd day there to meet with her, while our instructions were to meet upon arrival(which was before 11 am)
When we got there we found out that the hotel was not on the beach. Our safe in the kid'd room did not work nor the toilet We were next door to another Riu. They will not let us in I have been in Sandals Cub Med Great pernasus Moon Palace and they will let you visit other property They Alcohol is so cheap they onle had XX and One spanish wine not to mention the alcohol it was all coconut flavor
Very cheap liquor & pool area wasn't very clean. Unable to use the other RIU like you could in the past. Food quality was very poor.
Thomas was great with his recommendation of h o hotel and tours Thank you
First time visiting Playa de la Carmen. Rooms were nice and clean but the food was very bland didnt enjoy dinning at there restaurants. Went by their pools and spa prices were higher so I went down by 5TH AVE and received much more for half the price. One of the hotel manager or supervisor! short Hispanic/Latin lady works in the morning. Answer the phone very rudely but other then that everyone were alright
We originally booked RIU Lupita but upon arrival, we were upgraded to transfer to RIU Playacar!!! On The Beach!!! It was absolutely beautiful! The beach was gorgeous, the food in all areas was surprisingly amazing, and the entertainment was non stop and better than any cruise I've seen! We would highly recommend vacationing with RIU Playacar! Only negative: it was hot, hot, hot at the end of July, and while the air conditioning in the room worked, its ability to really cool the room down was limited. Luckily there was a ceiling fan which helped a little. Overall we loved our visit and the staff was amazing and friendly! We would go back tomorrow if our work schedule allowed!!
