I would recommend this to my friends for sure! We are in our late 20s, decided to book a last minute trip and glad we did with CheapCarribean. It was easy, affordable, and made traveling in Cancun effortless. The resort was amazing, very clean and modern. It had a good mixture of families, party goers, and couples. The food was good and typical for your all inclusive resort, but I actually really enjoyed it and it changed everyday (BREAKFAST WAS AWESOME). My only recommendations is that the pool chairs (if you want the sun) book up quick, so get out there early and put your towels down, if you don't care about the sun, they have plenty of open chairs. Also, you can only book dinners (that require reservations) two days before so plan accordingly, if not the buffet is always open and they have a 24hr sports bar. Also don't forget about the beach! Had so much activities, and its just a small marina fee (3$ or so) to windsurf, sail, snorkel etc. They also had games every day at different times that was so much fun for everyone. Where it is located is also great for shopping. Lastly, we did the Xel-Ha excursion and highly recommend it. Overall, the staff was great, always made you feel comfortable and that you had a drink in hand :). Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
We went with a group of 12 guys for college graduation. We spent most of our time by the pool bar, lobby bar, and in the pool. We enjoyed the resort bars quite a bit and spent most of our time at them. The food options were pretty expansive, so if you wanted to sit down and dine there were a few options to do so. At the same time, you could very easily eat every meal at the buffet (we had 5 guys eat every meal there), which is as good as anything. The rooms were what we expected but the beds turned out to be a little small, which wasn't a huge deal for us. The nightlife on the resort, which is a club, is pretty fun if you make it fun. The liquor is not exactly top shelf, but it mixes well enough. The only beer is Dos Equis, so you get pretty tired of it toward the end of your stay. Overall, we enjoyed our stay quite a bit and I would recommend it to anyone wanted to have a fun time and enjoy the views.
Amazing resort! Awesome drinks, food, service, location, and best of all, it'll keep you feeling like you're on vacation the way it is meant to be. Been to cancun a lot, and this hotel has been the only one to really spark my interest and liking. Completely all inclusive and hassle free, everything available at your service as well!!
My girlfriend and I visited the Riu Cancun late in July 2016 for a week. This resort is top notch. Service: The staff (cleaning crew, front desk, waiters, cooks, bartenders ) are friendly, accommodating and very attentive. Everyone sincerely wants you to enjoy yourself and relax. Grounds: The layout of the rooms and the hotel is spacious and well appointed. Food: The buffets and a la carter dinning is clean, fresh, well organized and the food is delicious. Bars: The bartenders are great and their are bars everywhere. The only negative is that "top shelf" liquor is not offered. Nightlife: The club is small but it's. Ice to have an option to have drinks and dance. Overall we love this place and will be back with friends and family. On a side note, the all inclusive hotels advertise that tips are included but please take care of the staff they work very hard without ever expecting anything in return.
I went to Cancun with my husband and met up with 4 other couples. We were greeted at the door with refreshing drinks. The check in process was fast and easy. Our bags were brought to our room immediately. We headed downstairs to check out the place and met so many helpful resort employees. The resort was very clean and beautiful! The nightly entertainment was great and had some good voluntary participation. The restaurants were good and buffet have endless options. The cooks were so nice and considerate, if I wanted something they didn't make, they would make it. Overall the resort was a positive and memorable experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
We stayed at RIU CANCUN from 01/06/2016 to 01/11/2016. Everything was great until the last day. The food was delicious, the beach was great with cristal clear water, the pools, especially infinity heated pool, were injoyable. We got a very nice oceanfront room with a great view. It looked like perfect vacation. But, on the last day, four hours before our flight back to the U.S., my son had food poisoning. He had profuse vomiting and fever. When I went to the front desk to get some help and medicine, I was told that I need to report any damages of the furniture and sheets to the manager, otherwise I would be charged additional money for the damage. VERY HEARTLESS RESPONSE. The health of my son did not worry them at all. Simple "sorry" would be enough for me. But I just saw stoned faces with no sympathy on them at all.
This trip fulfilled all expectations and more. All hotel staff, service and management was amazingly helpful, professional and fun. Any one was willing to answer and accommodate all quests. I want to especially point out our Am-star transportation/excursion organizer Gillamo (Spanish for William). He was always our go to person. Always had answers and set up our wonderful excursions with how, when, where, and what if's. He made our trip effortless. Just an astounding personality and really caring appeal. I can not say enough to justify how great full I was to have him available. So many opinions as far as food/drinks. All dinners were delicious, healthy, well presented. Entertainment nightly and dancing in the disco very lively every night. The hotel was kept exquisitely clean and fresh. Plenty to do and shop with in the hotel zone. Very impressed with it all. Want to return TODAY! So happy I found this website. Would recommend it to all.
This was the first real vacation my wife and I have taken, and it was all I could hope for. I don't know what more I could expect. The price was very good, the restaurants were very good. The buffet was amazing. The entertainment was good, but not great. The beach is "shaded" by the island so the waves are small. Good snorkeling. I can't wait to go back, and will definitely consider the Riu Cancun again.
The resort is beautiful with an amazing location. The ocean is perfect with tons of fish to see while snorkeling, a nice ocean breeze keeps the bugs away and the pools are clean and well maintained. There are lots of pools to choose from, one is shady, one is more for the drinkers, one seems more geared for the partiers and one is calmer (where my family and I hung out mostly). We traveled with two tweens and they had a blast! We got the junior suite and were disappointed with the set up. There were two full beds, but they are pushed together with no way to pull them apart. I didn't mind too much as I was sharing with my husband and daughter, but two couples may find that awkward. The room was not as clean as I'm used to. The spare blankets had hair and stains on them, the drinking glass in the bathroom had lipstick and the couch was dirty. The rest of the hotel is spotless and the staff is constantly cleaning and keeping it beautiful. I just wish our room had the same treatment. Maybe our housekeeper was having a bad week. The dinner reservation system is a bit frustrating too. You can't make reservations until you check in, and they can only reserve up to 48 hours in advance. They reservations go quickly and there was a line in the morning waiting to make a reservation at 8am. The crazy thing was that the restaurants weren't even close to full when we did finally get in.
I am not conpletely happy this vacation, the room i booked is not like my thinking and seen on the web .i just see part of the see far away.cause the big roof cover my vision, anyway everything is perfect,i will be back thjs resort in a day.tbank u cheapcarribean so much!
