hotel in downtown area. near stores and bars. plenty of restaurants. chose all inclusive. food options were very good .private island is amazing. room was at adult tower. front desk attendant brian was very helpful with any request that i or my wife had. the bartenders at the adult pool bar were the best!. Alejandro,Jacqueline and gian carlos are a great asset to the resort. they treated us like family.my wife ,who at first did not want to go on this trip ,can't stop talking about aruba and is already planning to go back. she wants to bring everybody she knows.

Beach Locations

The beach for the marina is accessible only by a boat that travels from the marina to the secluded beach. This is a bit inconvenient. However, the beach is very nice. The food under the all inclusive program was a bit limited. The beach/pool of the hotel is a nice walk from the marina and is very pleasant. Aruba is not the tropical island that I expected. There was a constant wind that kept the temperature moderate. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time.

Vacation of a Lifetime

My husband and I went to Aruba for a winter vacation, what a vacation it was, the Rennance Hotel and Casino was everything that we wanted. It was Beautiful, the accomendations were exactly what was described, the people were beautiful. We couldnt have ask for a more relaxing time. I have to say the I was very reluctent about using Cheap Caribbean, I went with it anyway and everything turned out perfectly. The customer service representives were very friendly and new exactly how to take care of us, that was very reassuring. We have been to alot of islands in the caribbean and never once has my husband said, " I want to go back." We will use Cheap Caribbean the next time we vacation.. Keep up the good work..

affordable service fit for a king

having two hotels to go to for dinner ,shopping &just strolling around was great! the boat taxi coming into the hotel & taking you to your own private island made us feel like we were in a much higher end resort than what we paid for!! we NEVER had a bad meal & we ate at every place they had to offer. it was close to every thing[bus, shopping, etc.]everyone was helpful at the hotel when asked any question. lastly the hotel casino made my wife happy [she won!!!] aruba has my vote anytime!!!!

Celebrated 1st anniversary

Loved the private island, which is not offered by any other resort in Aruba. Disappointed in the quality and comfort of the room and dining options in and around the resort. Surprised it was downtown and right next to the main road.

The private island was wonderful!

Stayed at the Renaissance from 7/13 to 7/20 and it was a fantastic vacation. Loved the service at the Renaissance from Nector the bellman to the waitresses at the restaurants both in the hotel and on the private island. A boat in the lobby area takes off every 15 minutes for the resort's private island where you are greeted with flamingoes, iguanas, white sandy beaches and clear calm turquoise water. Never a problem getting a lounger. There is service on the beach and at the island restaurant. There is an adult side of the island which requires water shoes when walking out into the water since it is a little rocky but great for snorkling (you can rent equipment or take your own) or lounging on a raft. The family side is not rocky and ideal for lounging on a raft, using a kayak or relaxing in the water which is very calm. A palapa room is between the two over the water and you can pay for a massage there if desired. The restaurants were all good (we chose the all-inclusive plan and you can use the restaurants in both the Marina Hotel, the all adults hotel or the Suites for families.) Surf and turf was delicious at the LGSmith Steak House. Drinks were included in the all-inclusive option and never a wait at the restaurants either. Our room in the Marina had a view of the lagoon (ask for the 6th floor); the mattress was comfy and the maid service was great. We left daily small tips. In short, it was a wonderful experience and we would go back to the Renaissance in a heartbeat!

Aruba Vacation

Visited Aruba for 1 week. Stayed at Renaissance Hotel. It was fantastic. The service was great and the rooms and hotel in general were immaculate. The best part was that the hotel was the only Hotel in downtown and on the beach.(All others were at hotel row about 10 miles away). This made walking to a large selection of restaurants, shops and sights very convenient. We received the adavantage of many stores catering to cruise ships, which made bargans galore. The hotel locations avaoids the usual tourist mobs and gives you a chance to see the true value of Oranjestad. Would go again in a heat beat.....Make the trip its a fantastic memory.

Overall nice place. Sketchy service. Private Island OK but consistently short on basics(e.g., towels).

economical

The great feature of this hotel was the private beach only for guests. The room was spacious but a little old, not modern. The staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel was near a high end shopping mall and two casinos. There were several restuarants near the area to choose from. The spa was calming, quiet and clean. Our vacation was relaxing and enjoyable would go again.

Renaissance Aruba

This hotel is located in a small downtown area. Posh and well kept area, but the hotel has no beach front, so you take a small boat to a private island. It takes about 10 minutes boat ride to get to the island, and island is very nice. The boats run every 15 minutes, so no real wait to get too or from the island. The downtown area shuts down at 6:00, so no night lift to speak of. If you want a very quiet, relaxing vacation, this will be a good location for you. The hotel has two restaurants, and an outdoor bar area that also serves food. The food is very good, but you may want to go out one night for variety. This hotel has the option for "All Inclusive" - I would go this option, since a buffet breakfast is $50 for two, and the average lunch for two with a couple of drinks is $70, and dinner for same runs $150. If you order two beers it's $14 - if this paints a picture. The all inclusive includes most premium liquor (Jim Bean, Bacardi, Absolute, Smirnoff, etc.) but only includes one beer selection (Balashi - the local beer, but it's pretty good and always served in can - not draft). Overall, good place to stay. If you want to shift into low gear completely, it's a great place to stay. Cheers!
