Our overall tally was a 4. We had a wonderful time, met some great people and even made new friends. They earned a 5 in value based on what others we had met had paid just in air fair. We scored a great deal. The pool area service was slow with only one person covering the adult pool and one server covering the beach. We ordered at the main pool and still waited longer than one should have for our lunch. This meant, we waited for our beverages too. Not being big alcohol consumers we even waited for a soda or lemonade or had to get them ourselves. The pools were great, water temps. comfortable but had to be an early bird to get a chair. You're not suppose to 'save' them, but towels and books were everywhere by 8:00 am.. We had no problem moving the books and making ourselves comfortable. You are even given a slip in your packet stating not to claim chairs. The slip seemed pretty useless. I was told there used to be a pool attendant who would watch for this and I think they need to bring that position back. I loved the beach but I love any beach. My husband needs the Caribbean waters and sand to enjoy the shoreline. You are not going to find that here on the Pacific Coast but the Sunsets are amazing and the sand and water are just fine. Oh, and it's private! Dining was never a problem and the variety is endless. Breakfast is my favorite. I could do without the theme nights and just have specialties of what the Chef was inspired to create for dinners. I know Mexican night was a tradition so I went for that but otherwise not too impressed with the theme selections. All the sides, salads, desserts and beverages were fantastic for each meal. The Bistro was a nice change for a bit of pampering and being served vs. getting your own and just as delicious. Our room was huge. We were put into a Master Suite instead of the Jr. due to an very early arrival and were told we could move later in the day. We chose to stay even though we didn't need the kitchenette but the two private bathrooms were a luxury. The bedroom was in the back of the suite but the pullout couch in the living area served great for falling asleep to the ocean waves with the screen less windows (by choice, they are pull downs) wide open for me. I ended the day in the bedroom and awoke every night due to something missing (the waves) and grabbed the 2nd beds covers and dozed back to sleep on the pullout couch. All I can say is "we'll be back" next time we head to Mazatlan.

Perfect Christmas Beach Holiday

We were skeptical at first about booking a trip online without a travel agent. We booked last minute and reviewed all locations available from the Caribbean to Mexico and settled on Mazatlán for the best flight times and cost so close to Christmas. Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay Resort Mazatlán turned out to be so much more than we expected. Beautiful beaches, clean pools, including adult only pools free of small children, so we could enjoy sunshine and read a book. We traveled with our two twenty something sons and just wished the rooms had queen beds instead of full sized beds. The food was incredible! Made to order fresh omelets every morning and French toast with Cajeta Carmel sauce (our new favorite treat)! Lunch and drinks by the pool every day and different diner choices each night. I would defiantly put on my list to go back. Staff was incredible! Booking online was no problem, flights were all correct and easy to get boarding passes for, the car service was waiting on us as soon as we got to the airport and well worth the extra cost. Thank you CheapCaribean for making this a Great Vacation! Traveling Texans

Superb Resort

We took our first family trip to Mexico and stayed at Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay. Our spring break trip was excellent. When we arrived, the room wasn't ready so we made our way to one of the restaurants to have a late lunch. The timing of the flight was the minor difficulty here; though this could not have been helped. So, when we left for the airport, we ordered a box lunch at the deli that we could eat in the airport before going through security. The facilities at Emerald Bay were excellent! The resort was fantastic and the service was great! I have already shared information about cheapcarribean.com with friends and plan to use this site to schedule some future vacations. Having the all-inclusive option and the transportation to and from the airport provided some additional piece of mind for the trip. Tipping was included in the all-inclusive, but we made the choice to tip our service staff due to the exceptional quality of service we received. Thank you!

Nice gateway

My family plus 3 other family friends spent 4 nights in pueblo bonito resorts and spa. We all loved it and left there with a good memory. The staff are very nice and friendly. Food was good. The only thing we couldn't use was the beach, the water isn't clear and it has jellyfish, so we used the beautiful swimming pools they have. Our room was a ocean view room on the forth floor. The distance between the hotel and the airport is a little long. But overall we liked the resort . Spa facility is awesome and highly recommended.

Nice gateway

Great fun staff BUT poor management

Don't expect a true all inclusive experience. Didn't get what was advertised. Tipping was encouraged when told that there wouldn't be any tipping expected. Lacking true handicap facilities. Wasn't given the room promised and then had to upgrade to a bigger room at our own cost. Management would not budge to make our vacation more enjoyable and they wasted almost a whole day of our trip on a time share pitch. They trick you into signing up by ambushing you when you first walk in after traveling all day. Found out later that other guests were given better perks than us. The service staff was extremely nice and helped to make our trip very special. They were respectful and courteous. Food was excellent and fresh, but there could be better choices. The waiters were open to menu changes and making sure that our dining experience fit our needs. Pool was awesome. Again the pool staff kept things lively but not outrageous. Pool areas need better seating arrangements. Overall the facilities are wonderful, safe, and clean. The spa is out of this world and attached gym has up to date equipment.

Lovely!

everything was wonderful..it lives up to being the best in Mazatlan! the spa, gym, rooms, service and pools were wonderful. the beach was not great but it did not matter....the pool options were plenty. the only thing that made me scratch my head was...why did we have to sign every time we ordered a drink or a meal? we bought all inclusive but felt as if we needed to tip after every single dinning or drinking experience...that is not all inclusive then. they said that we did not have to tip but you felt like you had too...many others said that they felt the same way. i understand the accounting of it all and have been to many all inclusives and this was no typical. happy and rested..all is good!
