Paradisus Riviera Cancun

Beautiful resort, comfortable and spacious rooms right on the water. I was there for my friends wedding which took place at the resort. Generally everything was great quality. The only issue I had was the availability of the restaurants - without reservations, you were stuck eating at the same place. But the food was still good.

Beatiful resort/ Not ocean

Rooms are gorgeous and very well kept and clean. Linens changed daily and plenty of towels. The specialty restaurants are very good but the buffet is very limited ant SMALL. You can see that the bars around the pool are not managed well , not enough staff and they have to go to other bars for supplies. You leave your chairs for lunch and come back and someone has taken them, this NEVER happen to to me and I have been at many resorts. You can't blame this on the resort but, how rude can people be. If you are looking for BLUE water DO NOT go here, no where to be found. Seaweed washes up everyday, water is very cloudy. And you if you want to get away and rest and relax this is also really not the place ther are too many kids, it is a family resort. From Newborns up. Like I said the buffet is small so they are underfoot in there. and the pool is huge but not set up for children starts at 4 1/2 foot so you have parents hanging out on the steps with there kids. Also you go out for a nice dinner in the restauarants parents have no common sense, they have there children there who have been in the pool and sun all day at 8:30 at night eating supper naturally they are going to be cranky, So you have a screaming kid next to you! So to sum it up if you are a family, I guess this would be the place for you. But we will be picking an Adults Only and make sure I have BLUE ocean next time, because why go to the carribean if you are not going to see BLUE BLUE water.

I would go back in a heartbeat

This place was very well kept with a wonderful staff. Every night we ate wonderfully prepared food and, their house wine was also very good. My advice to couples is to upgrade to perferred service. This is mainly because of the private pool and bar.(no kids making noise, it is a much more relaxing way to go. If you are going with a large group there really isn't a need to upgrade. All of the room have the same beds and the only differenceis a jet tub on the balcony in all ocean veiw rooms. We upgraded but we would've been fine without doing so. The most frustrating thing was getting into the Japanese restaurant. This is the only restaurant you have to prebook. The host takes reservations at 5:30pm but people start to line up at 3:00. I got on the long line at 4:30 and got the last reservation at 9pm. The food was great but the system needs work.

Paradisius Riviera Cancun

We had a great stay at this resort. Service was good and place was beautiful. The beds were hard and uncomfortable but other than that, the stay was fantastic.

Now Saphire

My wife and I vacationed at the Riviera Now Sapphire Cancun; this was our first vacation in over eight years. We where expecting an awesome trip, WOW, we where surprised, the NOW SAPHIRE was fantastic. The service at this resort can’t be beat! It was the best trip we have ever gone on. Cheap Caribbean.com was great, prior to picking this destination I had know idea where to go, just knew I wanted to go, the service representative that helped us was great, I asked one simple question: If you where going with us, where would you go? The NOW SAPHIRE, what a great trip and can't wait to book my next trip back. Thank you

Good but not great!

This resort is the older Paradisus Riviera. I was surprised when we pulled up to the hotel to see that it was not a newer property. The room was very nice - separate sitting area, flat screen TV, comfortable bed and linens, and nice toiletries in the bathroom. There were several small details overlooked, however. The coffee pot did not have a wall plug nearby and there was no sugar/creamer, and there was only one coffee cup. We had to ask for a room service menu - even after we were told how much of a benefit the 24 hr. service was. The ala carte restaurants we could go to were good. The French restaurant was especially good, as was the Mexican restaurant. The Japanese restaurant was only open 2 nights out of the 6, and there was a long wait on the night we wanted to go. The buffet restaurant was pretty average to other all-inclusives. We liked the fact that you were not required to wear a "bracelet", and did not need a towel card. The nightly entertainment was not nearly as good as we have experienced at other resorts. All in all, the resort is nice, but I'm not sure it should be ranked quite as high as it is.

Now Sapphire

Booking through CheapCaribbean.com was the best ever! The Now Sapphire was excellent. We took our 2 boys and stayed in a jr. suite which had 2 full beds and a pull out sofa. We did not spend much time in the room and it was perfect. The Now Sapphire has the restaurants and a great pool and a great spa, but its the people that really made our trip special! We could not have ask for anything better!! Be aware that you will be greated at the airport by staff in blue shirts. They will try to sell you time share appointments. If this is not your thing, keep moving until you get outside!

More of a family Place

My husband and I are a newly married couple in your late 20's/early 30's. Upon arrival there we discovered that the NOW resort was the third level of the resort out of their sister resorts DREAMS (2nd) and SECRETS (1st). Our NOW resort has an open outdoor layout. All of their rooms are newly renovated and comfortable. We had some bad luck getting a room with a minifridge that didn't work well, a toliet that didn't flush well, and ants. Apparently ants are something that is common all over mexico. They did come in and spray so we didn't see any others after that. We did request a room change because of the culmination of problems and they did honor that request immediately. The weather (it was December) was a bit on the colder side in the high 60's and low 70's the first 4 days we were there because tof a cold front. As a result, we upgraded our room to a room with an ocean front view that had a spa on the balcony. It was nice to have so we could go in the water each day that wasn't freezing. However, I must say it was difficult fitting two of us in the tub comfortable, but we made it work. The regular pool was not heated and there are no public hot tubs. We paid extra to use the spa to go in the jacuzzi which was not hot, but warm instead. They were unable to make the water hotter when requested. On a better note, we loved the food and we still enjoyed a relaxing vacation. The service was very good as well. There were a lot of families that went together so it was difficult to meet other people (as a couple we thought we might have met other people there). The drinks were delicious and they were not afraid to add lots of alcohol. Overall, we would not go back or tell other people to go there unless maybe they had families and took advantage of the kids programs. The adult activities were all done in front of the pool in front of everyone, including zumba, and dance lessons. We might have been more inclined to participate if it was not in front of everyone. The night activities were cute, but slightly corny...but kid friendly. They had a band play nightly. I wish there were more activities geared toward adults.

Outstanding!

This was my second vacation to Mexico. The Now Saphire is very, very nice. The pools and beaches are amazing, the restaurants have a lot of variety with fresh fruit, regional dishes, and international fare, the drinks are top shelf, the rooms are clean and contemporary, and the staff is friendly and helpful. We went on several excursions to the Mayan ruins, hiking, and snorkelling undergound rivers and the beautiful reef. The reef is about a 5 minute boat ride from the Now Saphire beach, and was one of the best activities of our trip. Although we don't have kids, I saw the staff going out of their way to engage children and make them feel special. The resort was everything we could have hoped for, and I cannot recommend it enough for anyone wanting a great vacation in Mexico!
