THIS HOTEL IS VERY MODERN AND CLEAN. IT HAS A BEAUTIFUL OPEN LOBBY AND MULTIPLE POOLS. GREAT LOCATION. THE ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE CONSTRUCTION GOING ON NEXT DOOR.
I went to la concha in november and had an amazing time. Igot a great package deal on air fare and hotel. The resort was beautiful and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly going out of their way to ensure we were happy at all times.
La Concha is a beautiful resort. The oceanfront room was very comfortable and modern. The windows opened so you could get the sea air and sound. The beach is terrific, although the surf is rough for small children. My daughter and I had a fantastic time in the waves. Really enjoyed the casino and bar areas. The pools are very extravagant and not crowded. You feel really safe walking around, there were plenty of police officers here and there. The bus stops right outside the hotel so you can quickly and cheaply get to San Juan to enjoy the sights there. Dining at the resort was kind of expensive, but subway across the street and other dining options close by.
My daughters and I had a great 5 days atla Concha. We enjoyed the amenities of the hotel. We also liked the location near good restaurants and not far from old San Juan. We would highly recommend it.
My husband and I along with two other couples went to La Concha in January 2010. We barely managed to find 5 days when all six of us could travel, and it took a while, but be we all agreed on La Concha based on reviews we read and feedback we got from friends. It did not disappoint. The hotel is located in the heart of the Condado section of San Juan. It is, in essence, in the downtown area. But don't let that dissuade you. In fact, I knew it was exactly where I wanted to be. We were in the heart of a bustling area, but the hotel offered a wonderful and relaxing refuge for us. I loved the pool -- central to the hotel and next to the outdoor bar/restaurant -- and a stone's throw from the main lobby and primary bar (which really hops on weekend nights). I didn't spend time on the beach primarily because I'm more of a pool person. But, I did think the beach was sort of small ... then again, for a downtown hotel, you shouldn't expect miles of open beach. I loved the location of the hotel -- lots of restaurants in walking distance to choose from including lots of very affordable options when we didn't feel like dishing out $30 or more for a light breakfast. Our sleeping room in the newer "annex" was nice and clean. One of the other couples with us sprung for an ocean front room in the main hotel. That seemed nice, but believe it or not they complained that the surf was noisy at night. The ocean front rooms did seem about 6 feet longer than the annex rooms -- but that didn't make any difference to me. I would go back in a heartbeat to Puerto Rico and I would most certainly stay here again. Why chance booking something else that might not live up to my expectations?
I booked a girls trip through cheapcaribbean.com to San Juan, Puerto Rico from June 3 - 7 at the ultra chic La Concha! Everything went totally smooth from the airport check in to the hotel check out. I must say it was great having a $0 balance at check out because everything was in paid in full up front with cheap caribbean. If I had any questions and concerns cheap caribbean took care of right away. Will definitely book next caribbean vacation with them! Thanx alot.
The wonderful vacation starts at the San Juan airport. The driver Angel is a Perfect ambassador for Puerto Rico. He also picked us up on our way home. The restaurant Perla is beautiful place, with great food & very nice service. We can't wait to get back. This is the second year we spent our anniversary at La Concha. BRAVO!
Nice hotel. Good location - short cab ride to Old San Juan or drive to the El Yunque rain forest (must see), or surf lessons in Luquillo. I would (will) go back.....
Hotel is newer so the accommodations are very nice and upscale. We stayed in the Beach Tower and our room had a separate dining/kitchenette/den area…worth the extra money as it had a full size fridge. On site bar and restaurant were expensive but similar to other hotels we visited so perhaps nicer hotels in Puerto Rico are expensive…$8 for a Sam Adams and $11 for a Mud Slide, $18 for spaghetti with meat sauce for a portion size you would be embarrassed to give to your young child. Beach was beautiful with excellent waves…no life guard on duty and rip tide was very strong the entire week we were there… The “adult” pool was TINY and in shadows by mid-afternoon, “kiddie” pool was TINY but had best sun exposure, “combo” pool was largest but it had no ocean view… The concierge was only somewhat helpful and seemed stumped when we asked where we could go for some fun and to watch the basketball playoffs…in that it was a Monday night in April he didn’t seem convinced we would find a crowd anywhere. There is not a lot to do within walking distance so renting a car would probably be a good idea.
I would HIGHLY recommend La Concha to everybody going to Porto Rico. Every thing was great. The only uncomfortable thing was the taxi service in Porto Rico. And also the day we had to leave that wonderful piece of paradise. I would love to go back ASAP. It is centrally located from everything. I can't wait to go back.
