All Krystal Ixtapa Customer Reviews
The best thing about the hotel was the beach. The sand area was clean and a lot of great walking. The wooden chairs down on the sand by the beach do not have any cushions and are tough to sit on for an entire day. Pools were nice, but you had to stand in line by 645am to "claim" a chair. People would claim chairs and then not sit in the chairs until many hours later. The hotel room was dirty, rundown, and the manager at the restaurant was not accommodating at all. We asked for a cheese quesadilla from the grill and the manager would not let the woman melt the cheese onto the corn tortilla. Most of the food was "mushy" and pretty below average. All 6 of us agreed that we would never come back to this hotel-

The hotel was nice and clean. But we incurred the following issues: 1. The air was not working and no one spoke English much to help us 2. You do not get a wash rags unless you find a housekeeper and ask for one 3. We had 3 in our room and they would only give us 2 towels 4. No one hardly spoke English, my hair dryer did not work and we called and they said thank you and hung up and I never heard from them again 5. Some days we did not even get a bottle of water. All others we got 1 for all 3 of us to share 6. Last but not least... The food was TERRIBLE!!!! Hot soup in summer and stale cereal. Always a new meat covered in green stuff. Just nasty!

We waited until three weeks prior to our vacation date to book our trip and found 7 day stays all inclusive for us and our 3 kids at Krystal Ixtapa at an extremely good price. As with any other purchase, we received what we paid for. We have taken multiple all inclusive tropical vacations so have many past experiences to compare to. This one was average at best. We received minimal information when checking in, in regard to resort maps, features, excursions, restaurants, activities, etc. We asked other guests to get the information we needed-disappointing but not a big deal. The food was like all other resorts, it got repetitive after about 3 days and was not great. There were two places to choose from and both had the same food. Two restaurants were available for reservation at the resort, one being average and the other was worse than the buffets. Service from the front desk was poor. Simple requests and information required multiple calls and trips to the desk. The resort appears to be getting run down and very little being done to invest back into the property. In my opinion, management in general is the resorts biggest problem. It is also worth mentioning that Krystal appears to be a very popular vacation destination for people within the country, especially surrounding the weekend. It was very full and if you don't speak Spanish, it will be challenging. While we were there, they had a marketing team there taking pictures, shooting video, and causing countless delays and interruptions. Restaurants were closed and even the pool area was shut down on multiple occasions. Very frustrating. The rooms were nice with a beautiful view. The pool was great. WIFI was available at no charge but only in the lobby. There was a nice public beach shared by multiple resorts but the ocean was not a place to swim. Waves were large and dangerous for children. Mountainous area in Ixtapa provided excellent scenery. The weather was perfect and it did not rain the entire stay. The best part of the trip was the shopping and restaurants across the street. Plenty of choices of shops and places to eat, which we took advantage of. It was disappointing to have to go elsewhere to eat when you have paid for an all inclusive stay, but we were grateful. Everything was so cheap too. This seemed to be a shopping area for the locals with grocery stores, gas stations, etc. Far less commercialized than the Caribbean side and very interesting to see and experience. This area was very safe too as it is constantly policed. Will we be returning to Ixtapa in the future, but we will NOT be staying at the Krystal Ixtapa

Hotel what was not what we expected there was no swim up bar the room did not ever have a fruit basket and champagne like they State they do for honeymoon package the servers never went around the pool asking for orders nobody let us know what events that would be happening daily would like a schedule next time. Had to ask the maid for a hand towel and washcloth. Hotel was okay for food-wise they had two different food choices daily plus there was always the option of doing the buffet which was always excellent. Our hotel balcony view was amazing we could see the city and the ocean as well as the sun set.
