I have been to riviera maya 3 times stayed at same resort reported air in room not working well never was fixed! I ask for reservations not to be at the same as last stay , still got the same ! Ask for ocean view instead I got parking lot view booked in advance to get good rooms very disappointed ! Booking was very easy with Cheap Carribean great customer representative but disappointed with resort
We had a great time!!! Only real issue that was REALLY disappointing was that fact that we could only make 2 dinner reservations. Our stay was 5 nights and 3 out of the 5 we had to eat the buffet. Which was ok, just repetitive. The 2 we did have a reservation for required us to get our appetizers and desserts from a buffet. I really wish we could have to sat and been served for the whole meal. We tried the Brazilian and Mediterranean restaurants. Mediterranean was DELICIOUS. Great service and great atmosphere and the food was wonderful. Brazilian was a lot of protein and we thought it was the same meat that we got on the buffet. Would have liked to try the other restaurants. The resort was HUGE. Way bigger than we expected. We figured that it was probably 1/2-3/4 of a mile from the front lobby to the beachfront. So get ready to walk a lot! The night life was great!! We saw the Magic show, Ideal Couple and parts of the Disney movie one (can't remember the name) and ALL were awesome! Kids portion is at 8pm and adults at 10pm. The pool was AMAZING! Not a "lazy river" per say as it did not have a currant to float in. BRING YOUR OWN FLOAT! We did not buy one but definitely wanted and needed one for the pool! The snorkel session was deceiving as well. The first hour for free is true, but they give you the mask and tube and you're only allowed to be around the beach area where it's 4 ft deep. The OTHER part of the snorkeling was that you have to pay $50 per person to be taken out on the boat where there is WAY more fish to see and the coral reef. So that sucked. The beach was GREAT! So many places to sit and endless shade for the men who don't loved the sun. Burger and hot dog place on the beach was awesome too! We took the Tulum excurison...we felt like we spent more time traveling in the van from place to place than on the actual excursion. They told us the ride would be 45min but it ended up being like 90 minutes :-/ The trip was 3 parts. The city of Tulum was cool to see. The cenote was fun but sort of cold (underground cave) but the best part was the lagoon where we got to see ALOT of fish. Wish we could have spent more time there. Our friends were celebrating their anniversary and we asked prior to the stay that something nice be delivered to their room. On the afternoon of our first day they told us something would be delivered tomorrow (day 2). Nothing came. Asked again on day 3, thinking they forgot and again they said tomorrow (day 4). STILL NOTHING. But finally on day 5 at 5pm (we were leaving at 6am the next day) they delivered a bottle of champagne and strawberries. So better than nothing, just annoying that it wasn't done earlier. Overall our trip was really good! I would go back. We did the sales pitch to get $150 off the excursion but if you're interested in the package they offer, its $14,000 for 10 years. Which for us, young couple w/o children, we just weren't ready for that. But it was nice to have some money off from the excursion which ended up costing about $215 for 2 people. I hope this helps!
I have no don't, everything was excellent!! I would defiantly recommend Cheap Caribbean.
My fiancé and I booked this trip 2 weeks prior to departing. It was a great value and overall we were very pleased. We would recommend this resort to others! Pros: -Great staff! Everyone at the resort was very friendly and accommodating. We were very impressed with the service. Thank you!! -Fun activities at the pool and beach! We learned to scuba dive in the pool and enjoyed people playing games at the beach. -Impressive pool! -Our room was very comfortable - and the refrigerator was always stocked! -The resort is huge! Plenty to walk around and see. -Nightly entertainment provided! -Shuttle provided for small fee to town of Playa Del Carmen. -Plenty of excursion opportunities available to book through resort. Con (hardly): -Some of the buildings are VERY far away from the beach. While we did not personally mind, if you are looking for a resort where all rooms are very accessible to the beach, Del Mar may not be the best fit. I believe there are only two? buildings that were beach front. -The beach is not the largest, but it was still quite beautiful! Neutral: -The food was good! Of course the buffets got a little old after a couple visits, but there are so many dining options at this resort, you could find something delicious for any member of the family! Something to note...this resort is VERY large as previously mentioned. There are 4 or 5 resorts in one, if I'm not mistaken. Staying at Del Mar, we could use services among Del Mar and Beach, but not Lindo and the others. We were perfectly OK with this as there is plenty to do between the two. There were not restrictions to checking out all of the resorts, so it was fun to look around. This is a budget friendly resort and if you are easy to please, like my fiancé and I, you will not regret booking Paraiso Del Mar!
If you're looking to get away for a few days from work, chilly weather, stress ... this is the place for you. We traveled with 3 other couples and this trip was just what the doctor ordered! The hotel/resort was always pristine, clean, and well polished. Everything from the lobby, the restaurants, pool, our room and the beach. It was crazy how well maintained this large resort was at every minute of the day and night. The resort is also gorgeous! Service was positively excellent at every point in this resort. It was really unbelievable how friendly and helpful everyone was at all times. The staff genuinely seemed to want to help meet our every need and request. And, let's face it ... after drinking in the sun all day, guests can get a bit obnoxious. None of the staff never lost their professionalism or friendly positive demeanor once during our stay. There is plenty to do at this resort. If you strictly want to rest, the beaches are beautifully maintained, white sand, and aquamarine ocean as far as you can see. The pool is incredible with several swim-up bars, activities, hot tub, and lazy river. We had so much fun! Lastly, the food is the only thing that wasn't WOW. But I've been to several All-Inclusive resorts through out the Caribbean and food is never the reason we go to these type resorts. I would recommend making reservations in the restaurants as opposed to the buffet. The restaurants had better quality of food. But in ALL of the food option locations the staff couldn't be more top-notch. Everyone was fabulous! Thank you so much Paraiso Del Mar for a wonderful time!! We and our friends loved every minute of our vacation.
My family has been staying in the Iberostar resorts for years. We had lots of rain this trip and yet had a great stay at the Del Mar resort. The staff were extremely helpful and always met our every request with a smile and lots of help. The food was very good, drinks plentiful and tasty and the sea water was nice and warm. As our trip was ending and we were on the plane returning to the US, I realized that I had left my gold ring in the room we were staying in. I contacted the concierge and they were able to get me the ring back safe and sound. That was such a great feeling! We will definitely be staying there again with great confidence
Me and my boyfriend were so spruced when we arrived because we weren't expecting something this nice ato all. It's a beautiful resort and the rooms are awesome. The pool is huge with two swim up bars and the starfriends (entertainment team) have games you can participate in everyday. The beach was beautiful also but there was a lot of seaweed in the water. The shows at night were amazing!! It was probably our favorite part. The only show we didn't enjoy was Magic Land...everything else was great though! This hotel was amazing and I definitely would come back too it again.
Overall this was a great trip. Pretty simple review. The transportation to and from was smooth and easy. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The wildlife was a cool addition to the atmosphere. The pool was beautiful but we spent most of our time on the beach. The beach was great. Like most resorts we've been to you have to go out early and reserve chairs with towels. If you don't get out there before 8 am it can be tough. Typical beach vendors but they were very respectful and not over zealous and annoying. The lobby bartenders Orlando and George were awesome. The Market area was a nice extra. Enjoyed the coffee shop, the crepes and the taco bar. The gym was really nice with updated equipment. Didn't take advantage of any of the fitness classes but saw many that were well attended. The negatives which are minor to the overall experience. The bed was very firm. Took a night to get used to. Our room faced the outside of the property and our balcony had the view of a large tower which wasn't attractive obviously. The biggest disappointment is the ability to only get reservations for 2 nights at specialty restaurants. The 2 nights we had reservations there was plenty of room for more diners, but saw people turned away because they didn't have a reservation. Stayed in resorts with other companies in the Dominican and Jamaica and both those resorts allowed you to make as many reservations as possible and even walk ups accepted if tables were available. The food at the Rock Star cafe was as good as specialty places but the service was really slow. Buffet food was typical resort with plenty options to keep most people satisfied. We did not go to the timeshare presentation but talked to another couple that would not recommend it as it was extremely high pressure. Overall we had a great time and would come back or try another Iberostar property, but would love them to change the dinner reservation policy.
Overall I thought the resort was great! The service at the resort was outstanding and I can't say enough about the bartenders and servers. Israel in the buffet was awesome to us! They really seem to be enjoying their job. The beach was great and pools were great. I did think it was easy to get a chair by the beach and not so much by the pool but you could get there early and get a prime spot. They say no saving chairs but everyone does. The Mediterranean restaurant was probably the best in my opinion followed by the hibachi place. I thought the rooms were nice but nothing really to write home about. They were big enough and clean but i thought the beds were incredibly firm and a little uncomfortable. I loved how wild the resort was. All the animals just wandering around and the fact you had to walk a jungle like path to the beach. If you don't like animals that aren't fenced in avoid this resort. We did do a couple of the work out classes. Great instructors and nice facility with a lot of variety.
Well to start the resort is absolutely beautiful. The staff are SOOOOO nice and cannot do enough for you. I would not hesitate to stay at this resort again. The pool is beautiful and the beach is breathtaking. I went with 2 of my best friends and we had an absolute blast. The only thing we were disappointed in was the food. Although there is a buffet which tends to serve the same rotation of food which became redundant. I was really excited to go to dinner at night at the specialty restaurants but we were not impressed at all. The Brazilian restaurant was horrible, we actually walked out. If the food was good this would have been 5 stars across the board. I hope that the dining choices are upgraded at some point because I would really love to stay at this hotel again at some point. We met awesome people at this resort, and like I said the staff is stellar. The beautiful sights and great staff would definitely persuade me to come back and visit!!
