Great Value for price. Pools were amazing, but beaches sastified your needs. Overall we were very satisfied and the people were very nice.
Grand Pallidium is an amazing resort. Beautiful spacious rooms, excellent service and great food. I recommend trying every restaurant while you're there - don't waste time at the buffets for dinner. The pools and beaches are great too, though many areas of the beach are rocky, especially where entering the water. Its worthwhile to bring some water shoes if you prefer the beach over the pools. Sunset cove was our favorite beach, which also has a good selection of paddel boats and kayaks etc for watersports. The resort is very large, so if you don't like to do a lot of walking, be sure to get a room in a centrally located building. Overall its a great resort and well worth spending your vacation here.
We were pleased to help with the staff training during the soft opening of this wonderful resort. We would be pleased to return to see how the resort looks and pampers its customer now.
I've stayed at this property two times on two different visits...once during it's first month of operations and once again in April 2010. The property itself is very spread out and hilly - a lovely property for those without mobility issues. This is a great hotel selection if you're not detail oriented and more of a pool person. The beaches at the property are small and not the best available in the area (but not bad...I'd call it a neutral for the property overall). The main pool and other smaller pools as well as buffet and american/steakhouse restaurants are really where this hotel shines. It's biggest drawback is in its service - employees are not nearly as friendly as I've found at other Mo'Bay hotels (the Riu and Iberostar are my top pics) - from the front desk to security and the bar. And the management of the property just doesn't have its eye on details...property maintenance, guest services (towels, linens, room cleanliness, etc.) and bar service are all lackluster. Finally the location can be a challenge if you choose to explore beyond the resort walls (please do, Jamaica is a beautiful country, with wonderufl people and needs your tourist dollars to ensure it's development...not money to some Spanish management company like Fiesta) - being approximately half-way betwen Negril and Mo'Bay you can expect taxi fares for two to run approx $75-$100 USD both of which include about an hour's drive. For the properties that are within the Negril/Mo'Bay resort areas that compete in this price range ($125-$225) - I would not recommend this hotel.
This is a great resort in a great location for a great price. The food was very good, and the rooms were new and very comfortable. My one complaint, which is not the resort's fault, is the trip from the hotel to the airport. We took a shuttle bus and ended up sitting on the bus for almost an hour before it left, only to get stuck in traffic. It took us around three hours to get to to hotel from when we got off the plane -- we just wanted to get on that beautiful beach!
I have traveled all over the Caribbean and Mexico and this has to be one of my all time favorite trips. The rooms were fantastic with our own jacuzzi tub. We like to workout and the fitness center and spa were wonderful. I would definitely go back to visit!
we had a great time, treated very good. Trip from airport seemed to take a long time. Once we got there we were spoiled. Would recommend to anyone.
I surprised my wife on our first trip to Jamaica. I was nervous when I bought a trip off of Cheap Caribbean without my wife knowing. It was her birthday, we left the next morning. She loved it. The minute we showed up, I was at ease with my decision. Everything at the resort was perfect. The room had a leak in the ceiling of the bathroom, but they made it more than right and upgraded us to A BEACH BUNGALO. Super room, the best. This room had an outdoor shower that months later we still talk about. We did not leave the resort for the five day trip. They have an extensive spa with separate pools. The whole experience was a gift for the price that we paid. I can not wait until we go again. This past weekend in July, I told friends about it and we traveled in February! We have told everyone to go, and the ones that did, loved it and thanked us for letting them in on this. When we were there, we need relaxation, that is exactly what we did. We met people there that we still talk to from other parts of the U.S.A. We stayed poolside, enjoyed the night entertainment. The food was good. The buffets were great due to the fact that most of the food was made in front of you, so it was hot. I.E. omlette bars and pasta bars. All the alcohol is included, not that we are big drinkers but it is wonderful to have a daquiri by the pool and not spend $10 a drink when your there. Highly recommended from us and don't worry, book the trip.
It was a good forty minutes from the airport and some parts of the resort were still under construciton during our visit. The finished accomodations were 1st rate. I took my daughter for her 16th b-day and she was bored by the end of our stay. I think it is a wonderful adult desitnations for those that want to party or couples looking for some time away from everything. The resturants were full of tasty things!
My fiance and I took our first vacation together to the Grand Palladium, so it has a special place in my heart. The resort is beautiful and the accomodations very nice. The sand volleyball court appears to have been made with cement mix, instead of sand, so it was rough on the feet. Also, our room ran out of water two of the four days we stayed and we had to call the front desk repeatedly to help with the issue. The food was excellent and the atomosphere great. The entertainment staff really went out of their way to entertain the guests. On the whole, I would recommend this place to couples and believe the issues mentioned are likely worked out by now. Enjoy!
