Great Getaway

I did travel through one of Cheap Caribbean's promotions with a fantastic valued trip so I was off to a great start. Still, I was blown away by the service, accommodations, and the beach/pool. The staff was warm, courteous, extremely helpful and at no time projected that compensation was expected for service. The room was quite comfortable. In all honesty, each day, I only looked at the pool as I walked out the back of the hotel to the fantastic 7 Mile Beach!

Well worth it!

Our entire vacation in the Grand Cayman Islands was great from beginning to end. Our experience at the Marriott was an example of great Marriott service. My wife and I were originally placed in a satisfactory room however there was a rather large and loud party from an ajoining property. I contacted the Front Desk and within minutes three staff were at my door assisting me in moving our things to a more satisfactory room. We rented a car for a day and drove around the island which was well worth it as well as swimming with the sting rays. The people at the Marriott as well as the island people were extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this location for a relaxing, enjoyable vacation getaway!

First trip to Caymans

We stayed at Grand Cayman Mariott Beach Resort during our first visit to this island. Hotel presents quite well and one can expect Mariott standard to live up to its name (personally I believe Mariott has some of the best bed mattresses). As noted in Hotel's description, Mariott Bearch Resort is set on the south end of the Six Mile Beach. Beach right next to the hotel is not too wide and I can see how during peak season it could become overcrowded with hotel guests (we stayed during low season). We did try hotel's restaurant for lunch and dinner and found it satisfying. Staff is quite accommodating. There are many places within walking distance of the hotel and provide for varied menu (try Ragazzi Ristorane if you like Italian). I did recommend this hotel to number of my friends as I believe it to be great value.

Grand Cayman

My husband and I traveled to the Grand Cayman Island for our honeymoon last February 2010. We stayed at the Marriott under the all inclusive plan. We feel it was a good value because we were able to enjoy many wonderful meals and fun drinks. There were a few different dining options so we did not get sick of eating at just one place the whole week, and the food was pretty good. The best part of the whole trip was the amazing beaches. The island feels safe and we felt comfortable leaving the resort and exploring other places. We would highly recommend this island and resort for your next trip.

Great Vacation

I would recommend the Grand Cayman Marriott. The hotel it quite nice and the beach is incredible. The pool is okay. Food at the hotel is expensive but there are lots of restaurants within walking distance where you can find a much better deal. I went with my 2 teens who were a little bored but Grand Cayman itself is is beautiful and the residents are polite and friendly. I would definitely go back.

Great hotel, centrally located

The Marriott was a great choice for our 6 days in Cayman. We arrived earlier than the 3 pm check in and the front desk gave us a room in which to change into our beachwear. While we did not choose to have dinners at the hotel as it seemed overpriced, there were several great options within walking distance. We did order lunch from the beach servers and found it pretty satisfying and reasonable. The drinks were pricey, but they had a special everyday and offered the drink of the day as a 2 for 1, ultimately quite reasonable. There is a great man made reef right off the hotel where I saw a variety of fish and even a few barracuda. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Several reviewers mentioned how narrow the beach was, but we did not find it overcrowded and found chairs easily.

Great snorkeling beach

The beach in front of the Marriott has excellent snorkeling on their artificial reef. Great non-chaine restaurants in Grand Cayman along Seven Mile Beach.

Great deal!

I spent 5 days here last summer, and the hotel and grounds were beautiful. The beach is pristine, although the "snorkel trail" wasn't more than some concrete blocks arranged in a line, with no coral growing on them yet. Thus, there were not alot of tropical fish to observe, which was disappointing. The turtle pools were lovely and well populated, and the balcony overlooking them was one of my favorite places to unwind. The restaurants in the hotel were pretty expensive, but fortunately there are plenty of lovely places in walking distance from the hotel that are quite nice and much more reasonable. The promotional rates for last summer made this more than a great bargain. The service personnel were incredibly helpful and friendly, and the rooms were clean and of a good size.

Great private beach, great location --okay hotel.

I booked this hotel for my honeymoon, and I had a great experience on the island overall. A few thoughts about the Marriott Resort: - Nothing is included. This is probably par for the course for a beach resort, but I was a little surprised to find that breakfast for my wife and I was about 45 American dollars for a breakfast buffet. Eep. Try "Cimboco", a restaurant a couple of blocks to the left out the door of the hotel for a tasty, significantly cheaper breakfast. - The in-hotel restaurant is fine, but pricey. We had fun on our last day of a week-long stay just relaxing in the hotel and ordering room service. You're better off exploring other restaurants for dinner -- check out Abacus in the new development northwest of the resort. Same price, better food. - You couldn't ask for a better location. There are frequent vans ("buses") into Georgetown for a couple of bucks per person and you can walk to a wide variety of restaurants. - The resort has a private beach with a man-made reef about 200 feet out from shore. The hotel rents snorkeling gear so you can explore it; schools of colorful fish will casually maneuver around you. Typically when I think "resort" I envision a facility that provides the complete experience. While you could do this at the Marriott, it would cost you an arm and a leg. I was glad I stayed there, but I was even more glad that we made an effort to explore the entirety of the island instead of sipping $10 daiquiris on the hotel beach for a week.

Didn't want to leave!

Beautiful place and excellent location on Seven Mile Beach. Loved the beach and the snorkeling. The hotel restaurants are overpriced, but there are a lot of great places close by that are reasonable. Cimboco, a cafe just a block away, was a great little breakfast spot. As for activities, the Red Sail Tours Catamran ride and visit to Sting Ray City was fantastic. Also, take the local buses for getting around town--it's super easy and cheap $2.50 to go anywhere on Seven Mile Beach. I was so glad someone told us--cab rides there are expensive.
