The grounds of the gran bahia are beautiful. They are very large but there is a little tram to shuttle you where ever you need to go. The food was fabulous my husband says the burgers were the best ever. We all loved the brazilian steak house and the french restaraunt for specialty dining. Make sure to make your reservations at the start of your trip. The staff was helpful for setting up excursions also. There is also a shuttle to take you up to Playa del carma that runs regularly to do some shopping and dining. We would definatley recommend this resort and would go again.
I had a wonderful time at this resort! The staff was polite, not world class, but beyond what I would have expected. The rooms were clean and spacious and the food was good. I would have appreciated more value, and maybe more opportunities to dine in the a la carte restaurants, but it didn't detract from my stay. I have taken many Caribbean vacations and this was one of the best. The new year's eve party was great fun, as was the ruins at Tulum and the cenotes tour.
MY WIFE AND I WENT TO GRAN BAHIA PRINCIPE TULUM IN MAY 2010. IT WAS OUR FIRST TIME TO MEXICO AND WE WERE HAPPY TO HAVE PICKED THIS OUTSTANDING RESORT. MELCHOR MADE SURE WE HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED AND MORE. HE IS WORTH HIS WEIGHT IN GOLD. THE SERVICE WAS IMPECABLE. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT AND THE GROUNDS WERE KEPT SO CLEAN IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE. UPGRADE TO CLUB HACIENDA AND YOU CAN'T GO WRONG. WE CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK. WE EVEN EXTENDED OUR STAY BY THREE DAYS IT WAS SO GREAT!!
Great food, Great service. We have stayed at this Resort over 8 times and you don't return to a resort unless you love it!! Going back , again, this fall!
The Bahia Principe Resort (Akumel, Tulum and Coba) is our favourite destination for a great family get-away. The white sandy beach is calm and relaxing. Our kids (4 and 7 years of age) enjoy the pool, the beach, and most of all, the great selection and variety of foods. As parents, we appreciate that all the amenities for our children are available, the service is great, and the cleanliness is of great standards.
excellent vacation destination. The resort is awesome with good entertainment. Rooms and property very nice and well maintained. Definitely recommend seeing the mayan ruins and there are several other excursions as well. I definitely recommend this resort and Cheap Carribean is definitely the way to go.
Our experience at the Gran Bahia Principe Tulum was excellent. The service was great and the food was always fresh and good. The beach was also great and it was nice to have so many pools and beach areas to choose from. The coolest thing about this resort is the tram that takes you from one area to several other options for food and fun at the resort. You always had a choice in entertainment and numerous activities to choose from.
The resort almost seems overwhelming in size upon your arrival. Once settled in you will realize, however, this only gives the visitor more opportunities to explore a truly beautiful location. There is ample room to enjoy the pools or the stunningly beautiful beach without feeling crowded. Many choices for dining allow you to satisy any appetite whims. Just strolling around the gorgeous grounds keeps you in a "paradise" frame of mind. It is a perfect vacation choice.
A friend and I were looking for a relaxing spring break trip. We're grad students, so on a limited budget, but we didn't want to be surrounded by drunk high schoolers. Gran Bahia Principe Tulum was a great deal. The resort is lovely, though the common spaces are in better shape than the rooms. The rooms were totally acceptable, but pretty standard. The dining areas, pools and lobby were spectacular. Another big advantage is that you have access to all three of the resorts in this area--you can eat at any of the restaurants, wander around any of the pools, etc. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the food was well above average for an all-inclusive: Buffet breakfast and lunches had lots of options, including delicious fresh fruit, and the restaurant dinners were fantastic! We had a great time.
We're not really sure how they made money on us. They're constantly feeding you, whether it be the great buffets or the 5 star dinning that gets included. Our room was Ok, though the AC wasn't the best and we found a couple ants coming in through a crack in the bathroom tile(we had 2 rooms and the second one had no issues like that). The resort is lush, to say the least. Beautiful and green. The beaches are Ok, though a little rocky when you first enter the water. Not much of a nightlife. All in all great for what they offer. Very affordable and great for the price, no regrets except for not staying long.
