Gran Bahia Principe Punta Cana Reviews

Our stay at Bahia Principe was a wonderful vacation experience. About 50 of us were there for a week attending my nieces wedding in May, 2007. Our rooms, which were in the Club Golden, were nicely appointed, spacious and had lovely views from the balconies and patios. The lush tropical gardens were picture perfect and served as backrounds for many photos. The staff, including housekeeping, pool/beach/bar employees and activities personnel treated us like we were their priority - a nice feeling at a large resort! The pool area and beach were immaculate with plenty of lounges in both the sun and shade. There were plenty of activities on the beach...games, aerobics, etc. - always something going on. Our group went scuba diving from a boat right on the property - no traveling to be adventuresome - everything you could want is right there. The buffet restaurants by the pool/beach area were fantastic at both breakfast and lunch. The staff was so friendly and couldn't do enough for you! However, the reservation restaurants were not impressive at all. The only one I could really recommend is the French restaurant. The food there was excellent. The others were average or below at the time we were there. I would have scored the overall experience an excellent if hadn't been for the quality of the food in the majority of the restaurants. The great things about Bahia Principe far outway this one complaint. I would highly recommend it to any of my friends or family headed to Punta Cana.

The resort was very clean and service great. The trolley was nice for commuting as the place is enormous. The only drawback I found was that it's hard to get to know other people as it's just so huge you seldom see the same people twice. The restaurants and buffets were very crowded as the resort was operating at full capacity. I would choose a smaller resort the next time; as we like the more intimate feel of those.

The pools and the beach were crowded. You had to get there early to get a chair with a palm tree cover. The specialty restaurants were great and the bars were amazing. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The maids were very nice and made awesome "art," ie., making a towel into a swan, on the bed every morning. All in all, really nice stay.

In the summer of 2009 my husband and I traveled to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. When we chose this destination through cheapcarribean.com we were very unsure if the incredible deals we were seeing were too good to be true but we decided to take a chance anyway. We were sure glad we did! We chose the Gran Bahia Principe. Everything including our airport transfers was easy and well organized. We checked in and were imediately swept away with the beauty that is the D.R. the resort was beautifully maintained and had a staff that seemed eager to meet our every need! We spent our four night vacation truly relaxing. Everything really was included; the dining options were good and plentiful; the pools were sparkling and of course the beach was just amazing! I would highly recommend both this resort and cheapcarribean.com to anyone wanting a fun and exciting vacation! I cannot wait to chose from another one of the fantastic destinations available through this website!

We were upgraded to the new area of the resort which was great. It was somewhat secluded, low key, and more up scale. The service and restaurants in this section were wonderful. The room was wonderful and not a large building. The resort itself is very large, which I would not recommend staying in the center of the resort, way too many people. The onsite shopping area was nice. The evening shows were not worth the walk to see, which was very disappointing. The beach is nice to walk and had a shopping market about a mile away. Overall I don't think we would return, but nice to visit once.

We spent two weeks in June at Bahia Principe Punta Cana. We had a great time, lovely room, excellent food and the service is out of this world. In fact, we were so happy staying at this resort that we already booked with Cheapcaribbean and will spend our Thanksgiving holiday at this resort. My sister is also joining us this week. Thanks CheapCaribbean for allowing us this great experience.

we have been to punta cana a couple times ... my aunt and uncle stayed there last time and they really enjoyed the place... we stayed there last month and have a great time... the food was very good and the service was fantastic... we will be going back again this fall with friends....the shows at night are fun and enjoyable...the beach is very nice and clean as well as the pools...

Excellent Service and food. Beverage are not that good, but for the price ir was ok. I recomend it.

Overall I thought the place was great and my wife and I had a great time. The only negative was that the food was just OK. If they improve on the quality of food this would be a five star vacation.

It is really a large resort and the beach and surroundings were beautiful . The rooms were nice and the nightly entertainment was good. The beach was a long distance from the main hotel which made it a long ride back after a day in the sun or when it rained, but they did have a nice shuttle system. The food and food service was good. The only problem we had was with housekeeping. I called several times to get a wash cloth and did not get them for the remaining 4 days there. Some of the staff at front desk and tour guide dept were rude, but overall it was a nice place to stay. The surrounding condtions did not appear to be safe, but there were guards at all the resorts. We did not feel safe going outside of the resort, mainly due to the language barrier. We would return and recommend to family and friends .
