Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica Reviews

We had a wonderful vacation at the Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica. The resort was a bit further from the airport than we expected but worth the trip. The food was very good, the rooms were wonderful and the beach was beautiful!

Overall the resort was great. The staff was great and the beaches were beautiful. Our room was great we did pay extra for the upgraded service not a great value as all the rooms are the same. We went with another couple and they did not do the upgrade and had a better view. The air conditioning worked terrific in all areas that have AC. Elevators were never broken down. The resort is large and has lots of stairs so this is something to concider. The big problem for us was we picked this resort because it said there were childrens areas for the pools etc. There were kids everywhere including the swim up bar with no supervision or care of disturbing any of the guests nor did the parents. The activities need to be improved upon. If there is a a childrens show early in the evening afterward the entertainment should be for adults. Very dissapointed that a Jamican resort would put Milwakees Best beer rather than Red Stripe in their rooms!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay with the beautiful view, gracious staff and wonderful beaches (small but nice).

The place was amazing - impeccably clean, great service, incredible value - we will be back!

We had an AMAZING time at Gran Bahia Principe in Jamaica. I can honestly say that I would only change one thing ~ the drive from the airport to the resort was about an hour & we were pulled over by the police in our taxi for speeding ;) The resort was not crowded and it was BEAUTIFUL. The staff always went above and beyond. We felt very welcome and special. A HUGE thank you goes out to them. The room was INCREDIBLE, the resort is very clean and well designed and the views are wonderful. The restaurants had a wonderful selection of food! Writing this review makes me wish I was on a vacation right now!! We are busy parents to 4 kids under 9 and this was our FIRST vacation alone in 10 years. I can't wait for our next trip!

Great hotel!! Service is awsome!! Our room was right above the lobby and the view from our balcony was magnifique. I cannot find the right words to describe how beautiful this place was. Jamaica~ Once you go you know~

ROOMS VERY NICE. FOUND THE STAFF PLEASANT AND HELPFUL. BUFFETS WERE GOOD WITH A GOOD SELECTION OF FOOD.

This was the second time we have been there. The first time was fairly soon after it opened. Both times were GREAT! The service was wonderful, the beaches and pool were clean, the bars where great and the all inclusive food was varried and delicious. Go there, relax, and enjoy yourself. I have recommended this location to my friends and my wife and I would go back.

If your expectations are to stay at a beautiful hotel (after driving past many others on the way to this one, I absolutely believe this is the prettiest hotel), and lounge on a pretty quiet beach or by some very nice pools, this is a great place. If you are traveling for the food, this was very average and the special nightly dining options were a waste of time. The main dining area that required no reservations was easy and absolutely fine if you were really focused on getting back to your activities. My prefered dining location was the cabana on the water - jerk chicken and guacamole most days, among other items. Also, you must travel by vehicle to leave the resort. No nearby shopping or other beaches to walk to, so be prepared to stay on the resort or book a trip/taxi to see other destinations. We took the shopping trip into Ocho Rios (street vendors very aggressive, so be prepared for that if you want to shop).

Room was very nice, clean, comfortable. Main dining room can become a little chaotic...since after you are seated and go to get your food, someone maybe sitting at your table when you return. They need to have some type of system to indicate the table is unavailable...they may have fixed this problem since our stay last year. Beach is great, food is great...make sure you try the jerk chicken which is cooked outside near the beach.....The grounds are beautiful...
