The rooms are nice the service good and I thought the food quality was very good - no complaints there. Its a Adults only place and most of the adults just lay around like beached whales - not much life at the place. The music they play around the pool and at breakfast is coma inducing.
We enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant selections were limited in the adult site. We enjoyed the French and Japanese restaurants in the family section. I wish we had been allowed to use those restaurants more.
We stayed at the Golden Crown Paradise for 5 nights. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and renewed our vows on the beach. The place was beautiful, the service was incredible, and we had the greatest time. They went above and beyond to cater to us and make our honeymoon so special. We want to go back!!
This was our 2nd trip to Golden Crown in Puerto Vallarta. It's an awesome place! The pool is clean and great and right next to beach area. The servers were very friendly and great help! Room was superb! Wish beach volleyball was closer. Wood definitely go back!
The pool was a lot of fun but the service was awful. They promise that you will have access to the nice restaurant, we couldn't get in the entire week we were there. The staff was rude and every time we tried to get help with anything they weren't helpful. We waited a long time for them to take our order at our meals and then it took forever to get served. The drinks were very weak and food wasn't very good, nothing special. The pool was a lot of fun with the activities they planned, but didn't make up for the poor service otherwise. Beach wasn't very nice and the street sellers were obnoxious
The GCP is definitely a diamond in the rough. We have stayed at 4-star resorts in Cancun and Riviera Maya. Based on reviews we read prior to our trip, we didn't know what to expect. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and checkin took approximately 5 minutes. We were escorted to our lovely room by Danny the bellman who could not have been more friendly. Our room was spacious and clean with an amazing view of the Bay. The room was nothing special, but we didn't plan to spend alot of our time in it. As long as it was clean, we were happy. And it was. Speaking of the room, shampoo, lotion and bar soap was provided. If you are used to something more, like shower gel, bring it. The food in the restaurants was good. We ate at Salvadores, Paradise, Fujiyama (next door). All were very tasty and service in these restaurants was very good. We had breakfast 2 mornings at La Palapa, the buffet next door. It was very good too. Most of the mornings we enjoyed a simple breakfast at The Breeze Snack Bar, on the beach - waffles and fresh fruit. They always had a pot of coffee ready first thing in the morning. I do have to comment at the service at The Pub and The Breeze - many times we felt we were invisible, which was frustrating, but we dealt with it. Alejandra at the Pool Bar always went above and beyond for all of her guests. Beach vendors - there were many. A simple "no gracias" and they would go away. However, there were many more vendors just waiting in the wings - sometimes as many as 25-30! We found that the vendors did not hit the beach until 10:00AM. So we would visit the beach in the early morning and then take a place at the pool. The pool is not large - I believe it is advertised as "almost" Olympic size. There are plenty of chaises for everyone. It is clean and very well maintained. As far as the guests - during our visit, ages ranged from 20's to 60's. We felt it was a very good mix and everyone was very friendly. You could have a party atmosphere, or just sit back and relax. it was wonderful. We took advantage of the complimentary City Tour. We highly recommend doing this as you get a great perspective of Puerto Vallarta - from the tourist areas to the real Mexico and its poorest inhabitants. The tequila factory was fun and we thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant that was part of the tour. We shared a shrimp festival and it was amazing! The day of our checkout, the taxi was not supposed to pick us up until 2:00. We asked for a late checkout of 1:00 and were cheerfully accomodated. Our bags were stowed safely in the hospitality suite and we then enjoyed lunch and a few more cocktails until the taxi arrived. For some reason, the taxi did not show up as scheduled. Manuel, the bellman on duty, took this very personally and made sure that another taxi arrived in time and took us to the airport in a timely manner. All in all, this was a wonderful vacation. As previously mentioned, we have stayed in 4-star accommodations, but we will return to GCP next year. It is a tremendous value for the money and Puerto Vallarta is simply beautiful.
At the time I purchased last year, CheapCaribbean had the best price on this all-inclusive resort by far. Not a 4 star by US standards, but a nice friendly place in PV.
Well just like all the other reviews said, this place smells bad. To bad you can't give a rating of zero. There is only one pool there is only one hot tub that is very small. I never had a chance to get in it . A group took the spa over ever late afternoon. The venders interrupted every moment of my beach time. They have serious plumbing peoblems. The shower water never got hot enough. The air conditioner stopped working. The mixed drinks where weak, very weak I really don't think they use alcohol in them at all., My advice pay the extra bucks get a nicer hotel
The Golden Crown was a really nice get away. The room was very confortable with a great ocean view. The staff was very friendly, room service was excellent. My room was always kept nice and clean. The pool was really nice with lots of lounge chairs. However, it was hot and the few chairs that had shade covers were snatched up quickly. The hotel should provide more shaded chairs. The food was pretty good, although in Mexico I would like to have had more authentic Mexican dishes. Also, the resort had someone playing the piano every morning at 9 - 11 am. I love piano music but hey, I am on vacation - I want the choice of sleeping in. Also, the speakers were always cranked up to old american movie classic themes - again, I am in Mexico; how about some nice Spanish guitar? I will not go back to this resort again because of one thing - the vedors. The resort has lots of chairs out on the beach, however, you cannot enjoy the beach because every two minutes someone is trying to sell you something. One guy even woke me up when I was asleep! There was no enjoying the ocean in peace unless you went out into the waves. That seemed to be the only place the vendors wouldn't go, however, they would still yell to you, "Hey senora, want to buy something? Real good deals. Happy hour! .. . . "
very nice resort. close to shopping and other activities. great beach. beach vendors can be bothersome but this is mexico and they are allowed to roam the beaches. the golf was fantastic, especialy the courses at vista vallarta. this was our second thime at the golden crown and i'am sure we will be back again. service and staff are great.
