Our first visit to Cozumel turned out to be one of our best vacations ever! As frequent visitors to Hawaii, we were hoping to find a great location closer to home since moving to the East Coast of the US. We were pleasantly surprised to find that Cozumel not only met our expectations, but exceeded them! The water was wonderfully warm and the most beautiful aquamarine blue we'd ever seen. While snorkeling right off the beach of our resort we were treated to a wide variety of colorful fish and sealife. Our resort was lovely, clean and offered great service. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed the convenience of an all-inclusive resort. We are looking forward to ouir next visit to the El Cosumeleno!!! And we will defintely book through CheapCaribbean.com!!! Great prices, great service, great resorts!!! What more could you ask for!
Friendly service...and the rep for Cheap Caribbean at the hotel was GREAT!!! Clean comfortable room...room service...and the food was actually good! No big surprises at checkout. They delivered and we enjoyed.
This hotel is bang for your bucks. We have traveled extensively and it is rare to find the service that you receive at this hotel. They are constantly upgrading the facilities. The hotel is very well maintained. The staff is extremely helpful. Although it is not directly on the beach it doesn't matter. The hotel rooms front the ocean. The food is good and they vary the restaurants. The evening shows are entertaining. The ceviche bar at the beach was a highlight of our stay. Omar was a terrific waiter We would stay here again. Cheap Caribbean was also very helpful. The agent recommended this hotel and we are very pleased with her choice.
This was our first visit to Mexico and I have to say we will be back again very soon. The vacation started when we arrived at the hotel and was pleasantly greeted at the grand foryer with the bell hops at our every beck and call. We checked in with no problems and our room was clean with a great view (Garden View) which actually looks out over the ocean (3rd floor). We had well prepared great tasting food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All the servers (especially Jeremice and Aaron) were very professional and courteous. These are real people that are genuinely friendly. The location is the best with great snorkeling right there next to the pier. There is a fully equipped dive shop on the property but we brought our own masks and fins. I recommend swimming to the Money Bar (to the right and about ½ mile) and stay along the rock wall (lots of fish). Also, go to Chankanaab Park (about a 15 min walk to the left) and pay the money to see and ride the dolphins. It’s worth every penny or peso. There is good snorkeling to the left of the park as well. Overall it was a great experience for our 8 day vacation. I wish it was longer. Have a great time fellow divers and snorkelers: take care of our ocean and the life in it.
My husband and I took a team of 8 people to Fiesta Americana for a Teambuilding Conference in early February. Due to weather, our original flight was cancelled, so there was quite a scramble and process getting ourselves to Cozumel. I called Cheap Caribbean to let them know that we would still be checking in on the original date, just at 10pm instead of 3pm. This was the only real problem. The resort was notified that we were coming the next day at 10am, so none of our rooms were ready. They were nice and gave us temporary rooms and told us to switch in the morning. I was nervous about the resort at this point, but it was gorgeous! The rooms were large and spacious with great beds and nice views. My husband and I were upgraded to an oceanview room for the misunderstanding and we loved it! The other couples ended up with very nice rooms when they switched in the morning. All in all, the service was excellent and I was very happy with the staff. They really tried to do everything that they could to make your stay special. I enjoyed our maid so much, that I tipped her extra every morning and she was so sweet! She even hand washed a white shirt of mine that had a chocolate stain and got it out--I hadn't even asked! I enjoyed the food and found something I liked at every meal. The drinks were nice and flowed freely. In fact, I never found a single item to actually buy! They even gave me double and triple strength drinks on the all-inclusive plan. I did tip the server on the beach for bringing me drinks all the way over by the hammocks, which was quite a trip with a tray and he held a hammock for me each afternoon! Balthazar was fantastic. The beach was small, but very clean and I loved the view. The Dive Resort was bar none and I fully recommend it. The snorkeling gear was in good repair, clean, and free to use! We snorkeled daily and the various free activities on the beach were great. Like most of the other reviews I saw on the internet, I agree that the music is terrible. I really thought it wouldn't be a problem--I brought an iPod and noise cancelling headphones, so I figured I would be in the clear. No chance, they play the music blaringly loud all the time and it's bad knockoffs of bad 90s songs. I did find that they will turn down the volume if you ask. In fact, I paid the attendant $5 US to turn it down and from then on, he turned down the volume every time I walked on the beach. It was super. The resort was fantastic and I can't help but recommend it to friends and family! I loved the look, the feel, and the seclusion. In fact, Fiesta Americana is behind a gate, so you don't get the taxi pile up at the front door, or the random trinket sellers walking by you on the beach. It was safe and most everyone spoke English well, so it's especially good for those individuals who aren't fluent. The best part of the resort: 5 minute walk to the Money Bar! The Fiesta Americana and the Money Bar have a fabulous shared snorkel tour, where you walk to the bar, jump in and have a guided English-speaking snorkel tour that takes you with the current back to the resort. It's organized at the Fiesta, so it's easy to access. While it's a funny name, the Money Bar is anything but. It has the best cheeseburger on the island, as well as the best Pina Colada that I have ever tasted--their Mexican Mojitos are excellent. They have live music every Fri, Sat, and Sun. It's so close to the resort that you can easily access the restaurant if you get tired of resort life. I recommend getting the cerviche for an appetizer and the cheeseburger for dinner. It was a fabulous trip and my husband and I plan on returning yearly. We met lots of couples that do this--one couple that has been coming for 7 years and says it just keeps getting better! Oh, one final recommendation: BEACH BEDS--best. invention. ever.
Great place, nice rooms, great staff and very clean. Only issue is the beach is only for snorkeling, its all rocks so don't expect a walk in the sand. Plus unless you get your chair very early in the am they will be taken if you want an umbrella, just a tip if you are fair skinned. Its a great deal, would suggest it to friends...
Fiesta Americana is a very pleasing resort maintained in top condition. The staff is exceptionally welll trained, friendly, and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable, and more than adequate in every way. The food was good but not exceptional. The location is convenient and provides good access to most of the island's attractions. The main drawback is that there is not a sandy beach. The beach is built behind a low sea wall because of the coral reef. The snorkeling at the resort is right there and is quite good. This is not a "luxury" resort in the strictest since but it is a good place where we felt comfortable, safe, and well cared for. We will definitely return.
Everything about this trip was GREAT!!! We had 5 nights at the Fiesta Americana Dive Resort Coumel. I wish we had more time...So much to do. Almost felt guilty just laying out in the sun with so many things I wanted to do. We rented a car at the airport so we had are own transportation the whole time on the island. Everyday we woke up at 7 am ate our breakfast and we were off for the rest of the day. We spent most of our time exploring the island it is absolutely AMAZING!!! Never saw such AQUA BLUE water in my life!!! Can't wait to go back!!! GRACIAS MI AMIGOS COZUMEL SEE U SOON!!!!
Nice dive and snorkel location. Service was very good. Breakfast was great and enjoyed the fresh fruit/veggie smoothly (healthy drink) bar. Tap beer was Dos Equis light and lager (yum). Was about 7-8 miles out of downtown. Best not to prepay for cab. Get at booth at airport (required) and then take a cab back. Only a 2-3 star resort but clean, nice location and good value for the money.
My wife and I stayed at the Fiesta Americana during the month of February. You get a lot for your money, and the snorkeling is great!!! The fish swim right up to you the minute you enter the water. The people at the hotel are very friendly. Tips are not expected but appreciated, and the desk clerk was very helpful with printing tickets that we needed for an excursion. Our only complaint is about the pool and beach chairs. Guests seem to have a really bad habit of reserving them for the entire day without actually using them!!! Many times we would be looking for a chair only to see books and towels--no people --just books and towels! If you go there, PLEASE don't do this. It's very annoying! It would be nice if the hotel's towel person could go around and collect towels that are sitting there for an hour or more. Other then that we had a great time and would do it again-- tomorrow if possible!
