My husband and I went to Excellence Riviera Cancun for the second time this May and we loved it! The rooms are spacious and clean, the dining options are fabulous and the staff is friendly and accomodating! The best vacation destination we've ever picked! We will be back next year!
My wife and I just came back from celebrating our 10 year anniversary at Excellence Riveria Cancun! It was amazing and by far more than we expected. The service was outstanding! The drinks just kept coming and coming! They has so many activities planned while you are there! This was our first stay at an Excellence resort and we are looking forward to going to another Excellence resort on our next get away. The only negative we encoundtered was that the Lobster Tail wasnt as good as if you were having lobster tail at a good Lobster restraunt back in the states. But all of the other food was exceptional. Spice restraunt was our favorite!
This review is coming from someone who isn't generally a fan of the AI concept, so consider that while reading my review. The Excellence is a beautiful property. The rooms are top-notch and equipped with everything you need. The food is good (above average for an AI), though we only stayed a few nights. There isn't a lot of variation in the main buffet restaurant for breakfast/lunch, so that could get old if one were staying for a week or longer. The pools were well-kept and the service was adequate. Not waiting on you hand and foot like at a Four Seasons or St. Regis, but then again you aren't paying for a 4S or Regis. For me the biggest disappointment was the beach. I generally travel to the Caribbean for the beach. I can get in a pool at home. I found the beach at this resort to be below average. The shoreline is covered in seagrass. Overall I had a nice time, but I'm not sure I would go back because I don't think this specific resort fits my personal needs. For others, with different interests, it may be the perfect property. It certainly is a beautiful resort. Shame about the beach.
The service here was above and beyond. It was so nice not needing to worry about any extra expenses and just enjoying our time on the beach and in the resort. I'd highly recommend the swim-up rooms if you like the pool. Ours was right by the lazy river where we'd always take a morning or afternoon float. We truly enjoyed the food too--the French & Asian Fusion restaurants were our favorite, and I was excited to see the prospect of an Indian restaurant opening in the fall. A good excuse to return! The only downside was that room service was slow, so I'd recommend just walking to the restaurants for better and more food.
I have stayed at several different hotels along the Mayan Riviera. This has been one of the more upscale hotels so far. The fact that it is adult only is a plus. We stayed in one of the swim out suites, across from the spa. It was so quiet. The walk to the beach, which is beautiful, was not far at all. The service was excellent, the food was pretty good, and you never go hungry or thirsty!
This resort is an atmosphere that is to close to living in a dream! The lush tropical landscaping is perfectly manicured. The staff treat you like they owe you the world and expect nothing in return. No hustle or bustle...and no kids. Peace and quite if you want it yet plenty of activities and entertainment to keep you and your partner having a fun time! Top notch service at top notch restaurants, always ready to serve you. All you can eat, all you can drink, all the time. I can't say enough! (My wife and I went for a week last January; I already have our next week booked for this coming December)! We can't wait.
My wife and I traveled during the swine flu panic and got a great deal to the Excellence Riviera Resort. This was indeed a 5 star all inclusive resort that lived up to the great reviews we had read about prior to our trip. The food, drinks, beach, pools, staff, and room were fantastic and we had no complaints about anything. If your looking for a great place to vacation to, this is the place.
This was our first all inclusive ... and we will be back! Absolutely perfect!
The Excellence is a wonderful resort with all of the amenities you could ask for. There was a number of activities to participate in as well as beautiful pools and a great beach. I recommend the Excellence Club. It is worth the money as it truly takes your experience to the next level.
My husband and I were looking for a spot we could go and enjoy ourselves and do very little 'thinking'! This was our first all-inclusive vacation and was a real treat. No reservations needed anywhere, just show up and eat. The food was good, had we breakfast delivered to our room every morning and had a great night where we were lucky enough to share some great wine courtesy of the sommelier. We did go with the Excellence Club room (private beach VERY appreciated) and glad we did. We were also there in Oct. and the resort was probably 50% capacity, perfect in my book. I would've loved if the surf wasn't such a strong current, but lounging under those palapas was amazing, we never had to get up early to get one or anything, although I did see that craziness at the pool. I'm on a vacation, I want to be on the beach. Overall a great, relaxing getaway and staff could NOT have been nicer. Loved it! Would go back in a heart beat. Have already recommended, and friends stayed at the other Excellence resort in Mexico and also loved it.
