All Divi Southwinds Beach Resort Customer Reviews
I have been to a few Divi locations and have done numerous trips with Cheap Caribbean. This resort is not even in the same league as other Divi resorts. The property is old and very outdated.We waited from 2 pm till almost 6:30 pm to get a room. This is NOT a true BEACH FRONT RESORT.... We had to cross the street and walk down a path to get to the beach and the ONE AND ONLY restaurant/bar ( which btw was closed every night by 9). These owners have no idea what all inclusive means. They had so many restrictions on everything from food, drink, use of amenities. It was truly a horror. Numerous times during the stay I picked up my phone to call Cheap Caribbean to try and get a refund then move to another hotel but luckily my girlfriend stopped me. This was just a truly HORRIBLE experience. I will say one thing very positive. The staff (like every other Barbadian) could not be nicer. This is truly the friendliest island in the Caribbean. I have been to Barbados a few time before and the people and landscape is the reason I keep coming back. I rarely write negative reviews because I know nothing in life is perfect but I felt obligated to inform travelers on what a NIGHTMARE this property is

My husband and I loved the Divi Hotels in Aruba, so this year we decided to try the Divi in Barbados. Will not go again. The hotel, although kept clean, is in dire need of updating. Our toilet didn't flush properly because, from what we could understand finally when we tried to take a shower was low water pressure. There was gray duct tape surrounding the pipe where the toilet pipe met the wall. It was roughly patched instead of properly fixed. We had to fill a pot in the kitchen sink and dump in the toilet to properly flush the toilet. We paid for the dining option, thinking that we would have several options of restaurants, like what we had in Aruba, but was told there was only one restaurant we could use our dining option on. Although the restaurant was very good and the waiters/waitresses were excellent, it would have been nice to have a few different places to choose from. The beach area and pool areas were always clean and neat. But needed paint and repairs. We were VERY pleased with all the staff in the hotel and the restaurant. Wonderful people. Very professional. We were extremely happy with the pick up and return drive to and from the airport. Very nice and very clean cars. My husband and I will not return. It might be a great option for families, not for us again.
