The room king suite was more of an apartment. Fill size kitchen, refrigerator, dishes, silverware, blender, stove top and microwave. Balcony. Two full size bathrooms. Washer/Drying machine. Nice freshwater swimming pools. Bar/Swim up bar Located on the beach. The only"cons" might have been the lack of bars but because this in not an all inclusive, may factor into this. I am definitely returning.
we requested and were promised rooms next to each other. At check-in we were told we had adjoining rooms. When we got to our rooms, they were not adjoining and not next to each other, actually down two separate hallways. We were then told they could not relocate us to different rooms.(we are a family with young children so it was necessary for the parents to split between the two rooms, as the kids could not be left alone) The toilet in one of the rooms was broken for 3 of the 5 days we were there-so luckily we had a second room, though it was necessary to walk down two hallways to get to the other room to use the bathroom. The pool was nice in the morning, but by afternoon had many leaves and frequently cigarettes and paper floating in it. Really no restaurants to speak of-went off the resort every day. Loved Aruba, but would not return to Divi Phoenix-spend $300 or so extra and go to Radisson or the Marriott instead-no comparison!
We had a room in the older tower (18 years old) and were pleased with the room and layout!!! There was a kitchenette to cook every meal if wanted! The resort has gas grills for use by the pool areas and we did use them. We had two breath taking views from our room - one in the living room overlooking the sunrise and town, the second overlooking the sunset, ocean, and resort area! There was a beautiful terrace to sit on that had two chairs and a table and breathtaking views of the ocean and beach!!!! The front desk was helpful with local info like the best supermarket and taxi fares! We were within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and entertainment! Housekeeping did a great job daily and there were laundry facilities and an ice machine on the third floor! Everyone was friendly and accomodating! There were always plenty of beach chairs around the pool and beach area! There is a beautiful beach with a jetty you can walk out on right there! The water was great for renting a raft and lounging all day!!!! You can rent raft/loungers at the concierge or the jolly pirate hut on the beach! You can go on various water sports/activities for a fee with the concierge or hut on the beach! I was very happy at the divi Phoenix and would go back again!
We had a wonderful vacation in Aruba at the Divi Phoenix. The resort was very nice, rooms were spacious, service was excellent. Restaurants were OK - service was good though. Only downside - it was very difficult to get a beach umbrella (straw)- many people put their towels down to save the umbrella but didn't show up for hours. Resort says there is a one hour rule but it is not enforced. Still worth the trip - would definately go again.
very good timef un in the sun greatfood sand and ocean
We love this place. The kitchen and washing machine in the room sealed the deal for us when trying to decide locations. Housekeeping does a great job, rooms are spacious and clean. There are angel fish in the water right at the hotel beach, so you can snorkel right off the bat. We have stayed in other Aruba resorts, but keep coming back to this one.
