We had a wonderful time although we did have some service issues. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was polite. However we did not have the room type our reservation promised us upon arrival, and it did take a couple days to remedy the situation. However once they did move us they gave us a complimentary upgrade. Overall I was pleased with my stay.
Hotel was wonderful and looks exactly like the pictures. The lobby is spectacular and gives the essence of the island. The views are great. The hotel room was a nice size with all ammenities neat and clean. Pool was clean and had plenty of room to move around and get a seat! The beach is spectacular for the snorklers and fish lovers! Yards into the water their are fish galore. Snorklers and divers are welcomed to the spectacular sight. We spent several hours snorkling and watching several species of fish. Husband and I are divers and used their Padi 5 star dive shop and so far has been the best experience in our travels in the carribean. If you want to get personalized service, this is the place to be. The spa is hidden away from everything, had a couples massage and was one of the best we have ever had. It was a nice touch to end the vacation. Shuttles will take you back and forth to town. We also rented a car and toured the island ourselves. Hotel is very convenient to get to other areas, but just far enough away that you feel secluded! Would recommend this hotel to everyone!
The Marriott Curacao is beautiful. The hotel is spotless, everywhere from the rooms, the pools, to the fitness center. This was our third visit and up keep and maintenance is always in progress. The rooms are now being renovated to keep the hotel four star. There were many restaurant choices including a deli that opened timely for coffee and breakfast choices for the early riser. The service was friendly, polite and professional. I even asked a waiter for bread to feed the reptiles. He brought me a plate at no charge. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
Everything about the resort was OK but not outstanding. I later learned that there were other hotel options that seemed to be newer , nicer etc. for the same price. I did not find out about them until after we returned home.
The Marriott was a so, so resort. All in all, having travelled to many of the islands, with Aruba my favorite, I was not a great fan of Curacao. The Marriott had nothing in the immediate area. In fact, what I saw of Curacao, and we did do an extensive island tour, unless you're into scuba diving or snorkeling, there is not much to see or do. I found the food at the Marriott way off for a Marriott. Definitely not a hotel or an island I would return to.
While staying at the Marriott in Curacao, we booked 4 days of scuba diving with the on-site scuba shop. Each day included a 2-tank morning dive and unlimited shore diving for about $125 per day including equipment. The staff at the hotel and the dive shop were very friendly and helpful. The resturants were good, but not great and the service at the resturants was slow. My wife and I traveled around the whole island and found that the beach at the marriott was one of the nicest on the island. The room was clean and comfortable, but we had to ask for a fridge and three days into our week our safe quit working. It was taken for repair and we did not have it for the rest of the stay. Overall the hotel was a good value (when purchased in a package deal).
We loved this hotel and location. It is a perfect place to get away from it all. Having the dive shop right there was great, and our friends who are snorkelers were in heaven being able to walk off the beach to a beautiful reef. We loved Edwin at the pool bar. We can't wait to plan our next visit to the Marriott in Curacao.
We really enjoyed the fact that there was a great snorkeling area right at the resort with a multitude of fish. Getting in the water is a little tricky as there is alot of coral and rocks on the bottome. The beach is fabulous white sand. It could have used more pampas umbrella areas to provide some shade in the heat of the day. The resort itself is beautifully landscaped and the decor in the hotel definitely speaks island living. The hotel staff was very courteous and attentive to our needs. I would go back there for another vacation.
Curacao is a beautiful island and the Marriott Beach Resort has the best snorkelling right along the jetties in front of their beach. The staff was helpful and kind. Curacao is a bit pricey in places so be careful there. Bring plenty of sunscreen....we burned pretty bad....thankfully the hotel had plenty of aloe plants growing. Do go exploring and try the local foods. It just adds to the charm! Someday we hope to return!
The beach and pools were beautiful! The rooms could use some updating. Dingy bathrooms and carpets and the room smelled funny. Other than that this was a beautiful hotel. Perfect place to kick up your feet and relax!
