Couples Negril was great from the minute we step into Jamaica. While we wait for our ride at the airport, we were served complimentary wine and alcohol. The ride to the airport took about 1 hour and half with a stop for bathroom break, food if needed. Once we got to the resort, we were warmly greeted and serve a glass of wine. The check in was done promptly and our bag was taken to our room. The room was nice, cozy and sexy. The resort was wonderful, the beach , the sporting activities, game rooms, the resort and beach was well kept. We are in our mid 30's and they were quite a few couples around our age range. Nightlife was decent, but not wild. We'll definitely go back.
We arrived in Montego Bay and were immediately greeted with a cool Red Stripe. A LONG but enjoyable bus ride later we arrived at Couples Negril. From our first encounter to our last goodbye the entire staff was fantastic. We're both divers and their on-site facilities are great. 2 boat dives a day along with night dives for a nominal fee, a good value. The dive staff is friendly and fun, so prepare yourself for a lot of laughter on the way out to the sites. Overall the vacation was all we could ask for, great people, food and fun. We opted for the charter flight back to Montego Bay instead of the bus, well worth it!
Couples Negril is a great resort. The grounds are very well kept. The beach is awesome --- clean and the water is very clear and calm. The weather during my stay was perfect. 80+ degrees everyday. The beach staff as well as the restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive. I only experienced service with a smile. The rooms are clean. As other folks have written, they can definitely be upgraded. However, it was spacious and very comfortable. Check-in once we arrived at Couples Negril was seamless and very quick. The food was really good. In the past I've found that all-inclusive resorts generally provide average food, at best. The food here was honestly very good. We ate at all the restaurants and can't find fault with any. The drinks were also very good. Overall, Couples Negril is a wonderful resort and I highly recommend it to future guests.
We first stayed at Couples Negril in the summer of '09. It was our first all inclusive vacation, and we loved every minute of it. So much that we planned our honeymoon there in April '10. We're looking forward to another trip to Couples sometime in the future. We love having a good time, and choosing the activities that we want to do- if we feel like doing nothing for a day, that's fine too. It would be great to plan a trip with another couple, but we did have a great time with the people we met while we were chillin.
To start, the package price that we were able to take advantage of was unbelievable. It was worth every penny and created lasting memories of our favorite vacation. When we arrived at Couples Negril, it was in a beautiful setting and looked very peaceful and serene. We were greeted immediately by the hostess with champagne and cool towels while we were signing in. It was quick and easy and we were on our way. First thing we did was go exploring at the resort. We checked out all the restaurants, the beach, the stores, the pool and swim up bar and it was just breath taking. I knew that we were in for a great time. The decor and landscaping was so pretty and well maintained. All of the employees were extremely nice to us and were able to answer all our questions and give us good recommendations on what to do and activities that were going on. I loved it because we could do whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted with no rush. There were lots of things I really enjoyed. My husband and I got a couples massage at the Spa which was really relaxing. I loved the outdoor dinner parties outdoors with all the lights, carved ice sculptures, delicious food and a one night there was a local band playing right by the pool. That was great and we were dancing and enjoying our drinks and food. Perfect night! Other nights we did music trivia, a dance party & karaoke with everyone. We met some really nice couples while we were there and got to hang out with them for a couple days during our stay. It was nice to mingle with new people and go to dinner with them for the live shows at night. Other days we'd just go down to the beach and float in the sun for a few hours or sit at the swim up bar and relax in the pool. Our room had beach access so we could just sit on our little balcony and watch the beach and ocean from our room. Everything was really easy to get to and we could just walk down to the beach whenever we wanted to right out the back of our room. One day we went on the glass bottom boat tour which was cool. But even cooler than that, we went snorkeling which I had never done before. That was definitely a unique and fun experience for me. I loved seeing and feed the Sargeant Majors. They would come up to you and eat bread from your hands. Really cool! I loved the little gift shops they had at the resort too. I went a little crazy buying stuff there but so worth it. This honestly was the best, most relaxing vacation I have ever been. I have raved about my experience there to all my family and friends and would definitely recommend it to anyone. I would like to re-visit Couples Negril again in the near future. I think about it all the time and remember how much fun we had. Thanks!
Upon arriving in Jamaica, my boyfriend and I were warmly welcomed into the Couples Lounge at the airport where we were offered a beer, Red Strip, of course or some water. It was a nice touch while we were waiting for our transportation to arrive. After the 90 minute ride to Couples Negril we were greeted with cold towels to wash our hands or face and a glass of champagne. The check in process was quick and we were given our room keys within 10 minutes of our arrival. Our room was spacious, clean, and there was a balcony off the back. The bathroom may be considered out dated by some people but I didn't mind. It was clean and we always had more than enough towels. The food at Couples Negril was outstanding! From breakfast to lunch to dinner and everything in between was very satisfying. For breakfast there are many options for all tastes. From local favorites to eggs and bacon, waffles, smoothies, omelet station, mimosas. The staff is very attentive and very noticeable. I can't begin to imagine how many people are employed there. The bars are great! They serve top shelf liquor and they will serve the usual tropical favorites like the frozen pina coladas, strawberry daiquiris and yummy Miami Vices. They will also make mojitos and cosmopolitans and other martini type drinks!. If you go to Jamaica you must try the Bob Marley shot. It's not for the faint of heart as it will leave a bit of hair on your chest after you try one! Your refrigerator in your room is re-stocked, for no additional fee, everyday!! You can fill a card with the items you wish to have in your fridge. Be careful they give you whole bottles of booze. We asked for some rum and we surprised to see it wasn't just a few nips! You can also get wine, soda, and water as well. The beach is very nice and clean. Occasionally you will get a few vendors trying to sell you something but they are not pushy and if you are not interested they leave you alone. The mats on the beach chairs you can take out to the water and use them as floats. Very nice feature! At the beach and the pool they have flag service. If you feel like a drink, all you have to do is raise your flag and someone will come over and take your order. This is a no tip resort. I tried to slip some money to a few waiters or other staff but they did not accept it. Recommendations: 1. Sign up for the Catamaran Trip--it's free and well worth it. 2. Take a trip to Rick's Cafe to watch the sunset and the cliff diving. It's pretty spectacular! It costs for the van ride there but it's worth it. 3. Make reservations for the fancy restaurant for Friday night. This is night when they serve lobster and it's amazing. Couples Negril is well worth every penny!! If you are looking for a relaxing, fun, low key vacation...this is the place for you!
Couples Negril is a great place for couples of all ages. The beach, the staff are terrific. Can't say enough about Travis from the staff. Would like to go back next year.
Couples Negril is one of the best places we have ever been. I was really surprised at how pretty everything was and how nice the people were they really went out of there way to meet your needs.
We've been to Jamaica before but have always gone the budget all-inclusive route. We decided to splurge a bit for our weddingmoon. Was it ever worth it - 10 times over! The food was to-die-for! We'd have a very nice dinner - filets, seafood, etc. and then go to each restaurant to try dessert. I was in food heaven! The beach is pristine and you don't have to worry about finding a lounge chair in the shade. Service was phenomenal and they even have a red flag service on the beach if you are too lazy to get up. We WILL be returning.
This was our first time to Jamaica and definitely not our last! The Couples Negril was beautiful, the food was absolutely fantastic, and the service was even better. I don't know about the rest of Jamaica, but at Couples Negril, they definitely cater to your every need and make you feel like you are the most important people there. We will definitely be returning and we will definitely be staying at the Couples Negril!!!
