Catalonia Punta Cana Reviews

Went to Catalonia Bavaro Beach Resort in the Dom. Republic in 11/08. I had never done all inclusive. It was nice not to have to worry about what you were spending on the trip. The food was good. Some hit or miss. I wished they would have had a 24 hour snack shop or something. All they had was popcorn in the lobby between meals. The beach was beautiful. Calm, torquiose water. The room was fine. Nothing really special but clean which is the most important part. Tipping $1 got you great service anywhere. The only real problem was with the transporation to and from the airport and the excursions. I arranged transportation through Cheap Caribbean. The company did not show up to pick us up. We had to beg a ride on another bus. The excursion companies lie to you and are a rip off. But if you just want to go to the resort and relax, not worry about excursions and have a few snacks in your room, you would be fine here.

Perfect for those who want to get away but not cost you a kidney!! shows were great...food was good....scenery beautiful!

First time in the Dominican and I want to go back again next year! We had a few issues our first night at the hotel. It was late at night when we arrived and the lock on our door did not work. Had to wait about an hour before we were able to get back into our room. I was hoping they would of upgraded us due to the situation but they didn't, so we upgraded anyways the next day and it was worth it. Rooms were better. Hotel staff were very friendly. Food was ok.

My friend and I were looking for a quiet resort to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Punta Cana Beach. We found it in Catalonia. We liked the fact that it was Adults only but attached to a larger resort which offered more dining choices. First off, the staff was the nicest, happiest I have ever seen. It was extremely clean and has many amenities. The beach was lovely and had a man made reef full of beautiful fish. It is the first hotel so to the right is unspoiled beaches for miles. (unfortunately along with that is trash but not anywhere near the resort). The food was pretty good especially at the Tapas restaurant. The other restaurants were the hibachi, italian, and mexican were pretty good. We weren't thrilled with the steakhouse. The rooms were very pretty, nice tubs, TV. My favorite was that they had hammocks on the balconies. Every afternoon we would head to the pool bar where we met some great people from Europe and the rest of the US. Carlos the bartender was the best. I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing vacation.

we just returned from the catalonia bavaro in punta cana. We were a group of 10 with four rooms. we all agreed that the trip was spectacular. the staff is friendly and very helpful. We had a major problem with our room and they switched our room and even sent little gifts for our inconvenience. The grounds,beach, and pool are immaculate. the staff works day and night to keep this place spotless and this included our room. i wish the entire staff could have come home with me :) the food was average. They have a lot to choose from and its always fresh but a bit boring but i was there for the sun and water so this was a very inconsequential concern. I would recommend!

MY COUSIN AND I TRAVEL TOGETHER ALOT...WE RECENTLY GOT HOME FROM A 10 DAY ALL INCLUSIVE VACATION TO THIS RESORT IN THE DOM REP....I HAVE TO SAY THIS RESORT WAS SO CLEAN, WELL SECURED. HAD AWESOME FOODS AND CHOICES OF RESTRAUNTS. ALWAYS HAD SOMETHING GOING ON. THE BEACH WAS CLEAN AND RELAXING TO BE AT...AS FAR AS THE PEOPLE AND WORKERS THERE...IT COULDNT HAVE BEEN ANY BETTER..AND I HAVE BEEN TO MANY RESORTS AT MANY LOCATIONS...THESE EMPLOYEES ARE SO GENENUALLY HAPPY TO SERVE YOU AND THEY LOVE TO GET TO KNOW YOU...AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR EVERY NEEDS... AND TO THINK EVEN THE TIPS ARE ALL INCLUSIVE...WHEN YOU LEAVE, YOU WILL WANT TO GIVE THEM A FEW EXTRA BUCKS FOR THE WONDERFUL SERVICE THAT THEY PROVIDE TO YOU......GO, IF YOU GET THE CHANCE....A SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR NEW FRIENDS..YIANNA, MARTHA,HENRY, JR AND SAMMY SOSA AT THE BEACH KEEPING US COOLED OFF WITH THOSE WONDERFUL DRINKS....

we were delighted with the service, the cleanliness,the variety of foods and of course the fun beverages. all of the employees seem to enjoy what they were doing and it was not above any of them to pick up a dirty glass or straighten a pillow. the beach, not so much. an awful lot of seaweed but the pool was awesome. we are already thinking about our next visit. we liked that the resort was only a few minutes from the airport. when we came home, we looked up the web site to compare the ad to the real thing. they were right on. a terrific visit.

We had a great time in this resort. The staff of this hotel are very nice. The food is excellent and the restaurants in the hotel are very good . The beach is great quite water, and beautiful white sands. The night shows are great !!!! and if you like latin music after 11PM there is a nice band where you can dancing a few hours , merengue, bachata , salsa etc. Great, Great vacations . I am glad I made the reservations thru your company, because everything was fine.. Next time I willl travel , of course I will use your services. Good Job. Thanks again, NJ resident

The staff was tremendous and the beach beautiful. The nightly shows were fun and the resort is not too large so you can get around easily.

NEVR got water or soda in our room for 6,days went to front desk and they did nothing.the day before we left we got water.the room had roachers,if u go bring bug spray.the people that serve you in the rest and buffet were great,always had a smile.ive been to DR 5,TIMES WE WERE NEVER TREATED LIKE THIS..THE ONLY THING NICE ABOUT THIS PLACE IS THE GROUNDS,POOL.THEY NEVER PICKED US UP FOR THE TRIP BACK HOME,HAD TO TAKE A CAB.I HOPE CHEAP CARIBBEAN CAN GET ME A REFUND FOR THE CAB
