Negative Feedback not wanted, third time

You sold me Breathless, I wanted and paid for singles experience. Close to my departure date, you informed me it would not be open. So I was redirected to Secrets which is a couples chain of resorts. In my opinion you should not offer to book vacations to resorts that "Your Experts in Beachology" have not attended, or can confirm being open. My booking was almost 6 months in advance. I feel confident you should have known far ahead of time the opening date was going to be missed. The facility is still far from completion. When I reached out to you by telephone while on vacation... Nobody wanted to help me. Thanks! Pretty sure you know the details from here on out, that is if you read my previous posts. Breathless Review

There was not a single part of this trip that went off without an issue. 1. The resort we booked, Breathless, hasn't even opened yet and doesn't look like it will be done for a couple months. 2. When first notified about Breathless not being open we were going to be put in Secrets St. James in a room that was not comparable to the upgraded room we had booked at Breathless. 3. When arriving in Jamiaca, the transportation booked through cheapcaribbean was horrible. We had to wait for the driver to decide when he was going to leave the airport, we were told to share a seat even though the vehicle wasn't full, and being a customer booking at an adult only resort, had to share the transport with children. 4. Upon arrival at Secrets Wild Orchid, where we had ended up being put, the room type we had requested and paid for (double swim up in the preferred club) was not available. My friend and I were on this trip and someone had put us in a room with a king bed. We were accommodated with a double on the 3rd floor for the first night even though we had paid for a swim up and then had to change rooms the following day. 5. We had excursions booked through cheapcaribbean. When leaving for the first excursion, our transport was late and then a small mini van showed up with 4 other passengers already in the vehicle and us having to squeeze in. 6. When booking our excursion we were never told about the hiking that would be involved which would have swayed our decision to actually make the decision to go. 7. Poolside / beach service was obsolete. We had paid for upgrades and a butler service and had to go to the bar on our own to get any service even though there were other butlers and waiters/waitresses wandering around to other guests. 8. We booked a massage and in traveling as friends were shocked when our massages were booked as a "couples" massage. 9. Since we had enjoyed dinner at the hibachi restaurant on Tuesday, we decided to return on Thursday and the chef on Thursday was a major disappointment. Hibachi is a meal that involves a show and if a chef is not going to provide that they should not be a chef for a hibachi. 10. The night before our second excursion I had told the front desk that we had decided not to go on the excursion. When I went to the lobby to check on our transport to the airport for the following day, the woman working at the transport area pretty much scolded me for not being in the lobby for the excursion (which we had paid for but decided not to go on). Because the front desk person failed to tell the transport person that we weren't going, she decided it would be ok to scold me because the driver was waiting for us (to which I pointed out that we waited for the driver the previous day). Every day there was a problem. EVERY DAY!!! Our Butler, Danae was AMAZING!! The bartender at the swim up bar, Ewart, was PHENOMENAL!

Not happy

So I booked the trip with Cheap Caribbean and the resort was not open and ready for people had to stay across from the resort. All day hammering and banging. 24 hours of noise. Very upset 5 days of not happy. It looks like it will be at lease 4 to 5 months before they finish.

Not Breathless

We were shifted from Breathless in Montego Bay to Secrets Wild Orchid about a two weeks before we were scheduled to leave. This didn't seem like it would be a bad thing since we were told by Cheap Caribbean that we would receive a free week's stay at Breathless once it opened. We were also told that the Secrets was at least as nice as the Breathless was supposed to be. Unfortunately some of those statements were untrue. When we arrived we were put over to Secrets Wild Orchid as opposed to Secrets St. James (both are connected and almost the same). We were able to get a great room on the 5th floor with an Ocean View, which was significantly better than what I paid for. While checking in, we received the voucher for the "free week" at Breathless. Included on the voucher were blackout dates and exclusions that are pretty much going to make it impossible to use the "free week" at any time. That is very disappointing. The agent at Cheap Caribbean certainly did not tell us anything about blackout dates or I would not have signed up for Breathless and the tentative opening date in December 2016.

Sold a Vacation Package That Dosen't Exist... Mad

Scores above are for "Breathless Montego Bay" I booked my vacation well in advance of the grand opening, about two weeks before my departure, I got news on "Social Media" that the resort would not be open. Cheap Caribbean did have an alternate plan, booking me at the Secrets St. James, upon arrival Secret St. James told me they didn't have a reservation..."Go check next door". Fortunately Secrets Wild Orchid had a room for me, but after traveling all night to get there, I was upset to say the least. I signed up for a "Singles Vacation Package"... I traveled solo, as I am single. I have stayed at Secrets in Mexico a few times and know that they cater to couples... I am single wanting a "Singles Experience". While there I went to the 4th floor of St. James to view the construction of Breathless Montego Bay... Let me assure you, that facility will not be ready for quite some time. This should have been evident much much sooner than the two week notice I received. The Senior Sales Manager for Breathless Montego Bay met personally with me at my request. Allister offered a free one week stay at Breathless Montego Bay, but it had black out dates for Thanksgiving and Christmas which are my preferred travel dates and it is not transferable to other Breathless resorts, which adds to my frustration, again, "I am single". I tried to reach out to Cheap Caribbean upon my arrival, but nobody really wanted to talk with me. I suggest you do not sell travel packages to properties your staff has not visited personally. After my experience I'm pretty sure you've lost my business which I regret. If a senior sales manager at Cheap Caribbean is interested in retaining my business, or discussing my Christmas Experience please feel free to contact me at 360-624-8826. By the way.. The Secret's Wild Orchid facility & staff were excellent, simply NOT the vacation package I purchased "Singles". Regretfully the complementary return stay has black out dates, it is not transferable. I do not see my self returning to Jamaica as I prefer Mexico for the direct flights and my previous experience. Honestly yours, Lowell P. McMurray

Sold a Singles Vacation that wasn't available

I Booked my "Breathless Montego Bay" vacation about 6 months earlier, two weeks before departure I was informed the resort will not be open, missing their Grand Opening date again. The options were to cancel trip all together, or stay at a sister property Secrets St. James & receive a complimentary stay at Breathless once they complete construction. Upon arrival at Secrets St. James, they were not expecting me & told me to check next door at Secrets Wild Orchid. Fortunately they were expecting me & said I had been upgraded. I am giving "Breathless Montego Bay" poor scores because they are still very far from completion of construction. I believe Cheap Caribbean should have informed me about the property not being open, much further in advance so I could better assess my options. In my opinion Cheap Caribbean should not be selling packages that they cannot fulfill. I was looking for a "Singles Resort" when I booked, but instead I got a couples resort. Secrets Wild Orchid was great, I've had excellent experiences at other Secrets resorts in Mexico. I did receive a complimentary lodging package from Breathless to be used in 2017 & only at the new property in Montego Bay. No other Breathless properties, only Montego Bay due to "each having different owners". Regretfully, "Black-Out Dates" apply for Thanksgiving and Christmas which are my preferred travel times. The Senior Sales Manager for Breathless in Montego Bay appeared to be sympathetic, as the contractor has missed previous grand opening dates. In hind sight, I don't feel Cheap Caribbean provided much value to me on this trip, going forward I look at more options. Black Freddie

excellence!

The service is beyond excellent, every guest is assigned a butler who truly tends to your every need and want. Miguel was ours, and was impeccable. I rated the beach/pools a 4 only because there is a one pool and not much beach ... however, the pool is extraordinary and never an issue finding a lounger. The dining is great, again-a 4 rating because of the limitations of choice, however the food is excellent as well as the service - dinners are the BEST! The alcohol is premium (grey goose, etc) and the mixers are fresh squeezed and/or anything you desire. They have red stripe on draft, including red stripe light. Isabel is the GM who runs an incredible ship and is herself extraordinary.
