Breathless takes your breath away!

I highly recommend staying here. It just opened up two months ago. The service was great, food was delicious with beautiful presentation. At breathless, it's all inclusive luxury and that's what you get! The rooms are very comfortable even though you don't spend much time in them! The spa was top notch and perfect for relaxation. Lots of fun things to do at the resort throughout the day and evening. I was impressed with the entertainment at night. There are two pools to choose from (one more upbeat with a great dj all day if you want more of a party atmosphere, and the other is more low key). The view is amazing... You have the marina on one side which is steps aways to walk around, and the beach is on the other side so you have easy access to that as well. It's located in a great area where there's tons of activities to do if you want. I don't have any complaints about this place and would definetly go back!

Spoiled with luxury!

We brought six people to Breathless. Our 33 yr son and girlfriend. Our 22 yr daughter and her friend. My husband and I are in our 60's. We all had an amazing 6 days at the resort. First, we loved the location with Marina on one side and beach on the other and the ease to shops and town. We all used the paddle boards and kayaks which were free of charge! Another benefit! A few mornings we had early excursions and used the room service for breakfast with no extra charges. We loved the fact the employees all spoke some degree of English--so communication was easy! {We've been to resorts where communication was impossible.} The food was good. None of us were crazy about the desserts which was good because we ate to much main meal. We loved David who waited tables during am. and lunch buffets. Adrian at Spumante had the best sense of humor as did all waiters at Spumante. The only things that we did no like were; 1. When we first arrived we were exhausted from long travel. They immed. bring you to another lounge and try to sell time shares and warn not to buy excursions anywhere--but from them. We shut that conversation right down. We had spent a lot on this vacation--and didn't want to be hassled, no less wanted to get to our rooms and freshen up. To which we were told at 2;30--our rooms were not ready. Everyone we spoke to was annoyed with this practice. Wait a few days. Let your customers get familiar with the resort and what it offers. It makes no sense at all to bombard tired travelers. I wanted to leave the minute this woman sat us down. I expected solicitation on the sidewalks-- This practice cheapens your resort. 2. The resort has no way of identifying it's clientele. They do not stamp your hand or give you ID bracelets. We all liked this at first--then were asked our room no.'s about 50 times a day--going to buffets out on sidewalk, walking back from town entering resort,, out on beach,--again and again-and again. The same person often within minutes asked us 4 times. We should have written it on our T-shirts! Don't know the answer to the problem--but it gets annoying the 100th time in the day. 3. Breathless is building a cruise ship port dock to empty cruise ship guests by the hundreds at the resort. The cruise ships park in bay right outside the resort almost every morning. I can see this resort sell beach "day passes"--etc. They already sell day passes to cruise ship passengers to beach and restaurants for $110.00 a day { we met a cruise ship guest that had day pass to Breathless}.I know their there to make money--but I doubt we'll return when this dock opens. If we wanted the ambiance of a cattle drive on an over packed cruise ship---we'd take a cruise.

Can't wait to go back!

This was an awesome vacation. The staff is friendly & courteous...especially Cruz the waiter. He never allows your drink to go empty & goes out of his way to fulfill special requests. We also enjoyed the variety of eateries onsite.

Lots of room for improvement...

We love coming to Cabo and used Wheel of Fortune in the past to choose a hotel, since it guarantees 5 star, adults only and all inclusive. Last time we stayed in a sister hotel - The Secrets and that was truly extraordinary experience! Unfortunately, Breathless did not get even close to our expectations and certainly has a way to go before claiming to be a 5 star resort. It is modernistic in architecture, however feels so out of place : cold, industrial , mute, with bare grounds. Especially lobby is unattractive ; dark with low ceilings, stark white, hospital like hallways in the buildings, with stripes of narrow windows, which are utterly odd, since block the ocean view! And then the music.... Blasting non stop, different kind on each floor , overlayering into cacophony and rather maddening. Have you seen a movie " Flying over the Cuckoo's nest"? - that is the feeling. We ( I stayed with my daughter) slept with headphones in for the first couple of nights. Don't stay in the wing facing marina: while views are lovely - you wake up to gasoline fumes from the boats in the marina. As for food: breakfast buffet has rather limited choices and the same every day, tapas restaurant is OK, we had one ( 1). hence, memorable dinner at the seafood restaurant : excellent presentation, delicious! Next evening we waited for our dishes for 40 min. left to another one only to wait longer, we ended ordering it into our room, arrived 40 minutes later. Room service is limited to a bar menu. Hotel is clean, staff is helpful and friendly, beautiful beach! However, 5 star hotel - I'd say not...

MARINA MARVELS

TRAVELS WITH ADULT FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO CABO SAN LUCAS GETS OUR VOTE! LOOKING FOR A CHANGE OF PACE, THIS PLACE WILL NOT DISAPPOINT, BREATHLESS CABO SAN LUCAS RESORT & SPA. THE AMENITIES THAT WE PARTICIPATED IN WERE POOLS AND BEACH, RESTAURANTS, ROOM SERVICE AND RESORT ACTIVITIES. OUR FAVORITE VIEW FROM OUR BALCONY WAS THE MARINA, THE DAILY HUSTLE-BUSTLE OF BOATS, YACHTS AND TAXIS. BUT WE CANT LEAVE OUT OUR ENJOYMENT OF THE FRIENDLY RESIDENT SEALS. NO COMPLAINTS FROM THIS GROUP, FUN WAS HAD BY ALL!

Wonderful Place

We arrived on the eve of a hurricane. The mgmt did an awesome job the next day ensuring we had food/entertainment with limited power. A lot of people just didn't realize the damage it did to the town but the staff kept everybody upbeat. It also put the beach area in bad shape but again, the staff were working hard including the GM (Rene) sweeping the sand out. Overall., the resort is located in a fantastic spot with easy access to the 'party district'. Only negative we had was our room was on the marina side and the fishermen and seals/sea lions will wake you up in the morning with their hollering but it can be tolerated. I loved it. I couldn't help but TIP people because they work hard to provide great service and gratuities was included. I will definitely come back here. Our kids are grown and we. Ever had to worry bout kids running around coz it was adults only.

Breathless - Not as expected

I have stayed at other properties owned by company. This property is definitely not the same quality experienced at Secrets or Dreams. The property is one year old (I was told) and it appeared to be much older looking. My shower never drained properly until notifying staff of issue. Floors in room could use a good scrubbing. The staff is inexperienced and not very knowledgeable on events, dining, etc. The restaurants (while okay) were few and I believe this due to location. Location in Marina, near downtown Cabo gives property no incentive to provide great food as a patron will eat elsewhere. As an all inclusive property you should have great restaurants. This should include wine and alcohol. I could only get Chilean or Argentina wine by glass. US or French wine would have cost over $100 for a bottle. Premium scotch is not Chivas Regal (blended) you should have some single malt scotches. The value paid for air and all inclusive hotel was good but I had higher expectations of the property as I was comparing it to its other properties.

Awesome Adults only resort

Great experience for adults only resort in Cabo San Lucas. Conviently located to excursions and downtown nightclubs. Amazing hospitality to surpassed all expectations. The resort ran like a well oiled machine. I'm recommending to all my family/friends and would go again in a heartbeat.

Good, but won't go back to this resort

Breathless, as they say, definitely tries to come across as a "party" resort. While we didn't mind, we definitely were not going to Cabo to party. With that said, we tried to get to the large pool upstairs early before the loud music started, which was usually way earlier than we wanted - around 10:00-10:30am. The infinity pools are very nice, though small. The beach space seems like it could be expanded as it is also very small. The service was good, but we felt like in order to get great service, we were obligated to tip. With Sandals, there is a no tipping policy and that is what we are used to. We hate feeling obligated to tip on an all-inclusive trip. Sure, tips are occasionally warranted and we could recognize great service when we saw it, but the expectation we felt to constantly tip the staff was annoying. We also felt like we were restricted from going places and doing things throughout the resort. For instance, we simply wanted to check out the top deck and take a photo. The man told me it was for "exhale members only" and I wasn't allowed up there. When I said I just wanted to take a photo of the beach, he seemed annoyed and reiterated that it was for "paying customers." Even though not a single person was up there at the time. We wanted to sit out by the large pool one night and just look out at the ocean. Here again, we felt like we were in the way as a staff member was trying to straighten up all of the umbrellas around us. It was like 10:00pm. It just wasn't the atmosphere we were hoping for. The relaxed, do whatever you want, feel completely comfortable, type atmosphere we're used to at Sandals resorts. The best part was definitely the food. The food was incredible! The room was also very nice. While we won't go back to this specific resort, we'd definitely buy a deal like it again and go somewhere else in Cabo. Cabo is beautiful!

Not for us!

If you enjoy club music 24-7 everywhere you go, this is the place for you. We LOVE our music, but this music was endless club pounding beginning in the early morning.... and they NEVER changed it up! At the beach/pool area/rooms during the day you couldn't keep your doors open as the party boats were coming and going and playing the same music too!?!? - you couldn't get away from club music, despite the headphones!! The marina has great bars and really good bands at night, which was our savior! One pool was completely boring and the other party central!? We are in our mid-40s and much prefer the Secrets Resorts - easier to meet other couples, super fun yet much more relaxing! Location was fantastic right on the marina and food was quite good, for resort food!? Public beach in front of the resort on the weekend was packed, but during the week not bad. Thankfully the resort has a roped off area for the resort customers and chairs were always available. We did like that the resort isn't HUGE - that's a big plus! Room service was AWFUL! We never had anything filled up in our room - mini bar was always cleaned out and never refilled - had to call 2-3X before someone would bring anything. We would have cleaning personnel come to our door several times throughout our stay and it was creepy! They would just stand there and offer a Hersheys Kiss???...Makes me wonder what they were up to....and they say there is a special lock on the door - as when you are in the room, there is no bolt lock or anything - some electronic button that is suppose to work - we tested it a couple days into our stay and you could still get in with your key card. Some things left us question things at that resort???? I wouldn't recommend personally!
