Outstanding Resort!

As a flight attendant for a major airline, I have stayed in many resorts. By far the Barcelo Los Cabos has been the most enjoyable resort experience. The restaurants were filled with incredible menu options and the buffets were an absolute gourmet experience! The staff at the Barcelo Resort are extremely attentive and friendly. Barcelo offers an excellent location but the resort is so beautiful we barely left the pool area! We will definately be returning!

Best Resort!!!!

The Barcelo in San Jose Del Cabo is wonderful. It hits you how beautiful it is when you walk in the enormus open lobby. The attention to detail for style is amazing, all the restaurants are decorated beautifully and the food is amazing with so many choices. We loved the sushi bar and all the seafood. The rooms were also beautiful, and clean with great views. The staff was always friendly and helpful. I would recommend this resort to anyone who loves design, good food and relaxation. I cant wait to go back.

Barcelo Los Cabos Delux

What a fabulous resort! We took our 7 year old with us. The various food choices at each of the buffets were perfect. The specialty restaurnats were fabulouse. We ate at 4, by far our favorite was the Japanese and Steak House but the Italian and French werent bad either. The kids club was terrific! My 7year old loved the crafts and water park. Some of the online sites make it sound like there is a water slide, there isnt. Just a bunch of water fountains and a small very shallow pool. If I had to find anything bad to write about, and it would be hard to find something, the pool bars dont serve beer until 10am and its a very laid back enviornment. When we visited the big pool was under construction and that left only the infinity pool for us since we had a kid. The beach is nice. Again some of the online sites say the beach is not swimmable. That is due to the under toe. The waves can be real rough. We did swim and play in the waves, but you will get yelled at if you venture too far out even though its real shallow. By no means can you snorkel off the beach but it was fun to play in the waves. The nightly shows were entertaining. Not too many people went to watch and the show lasts for just an hour. The staff was terrific and very helpful. We would go back to this resort again if we had the chance. Highly recomended.

Barcelo Resort - Good vacation

The facility is new, clean and safe. The staff was welcoming, friendly and warm. I would personally recommending upgrading to the Preminum lounge. We encountered excellent service in the premiun lounge with great personality and a can-do attitude. The food and drinks are adequate for lunch and dinner for the mexican and intercontinential venues. The japanese and french restuarants were outstanding and provided the best food we had at the resort. It is best to get reservations to the restaruants as soon as you arrive via the preminum lounge. The drinks in the lounge were also a higher quality than at the beaches. Overall, I would recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for a vacation...I would return.

Great Mix of a Hotel. Peaceful and Enjoyable

My daughter and I had a great time at this hotel. I'll start with the positive stuff first and then lead to what they need to work on. The layout of the hotel is gorgeous. You walk in the lobby and keep going and look at a beautiful view. I loved the cozy fireplaces, beach bed, and especially the Martini Bar. A big shout out to Ivan. Our room was great with a very cool smart desk flat screen TV. I was a TV and a computer. My daughter and I loved the Ginormous Facebook. The Bed was really comfy and the bathroom design was great. They kept our mini fridge stocked and maid service checked on us twice to see if we needed any extra towels and such. The reservation system for dinner definitely needs to improve. When we checked in on Saturday everything was booked for the exception of the French Restaurant @ 9 pm Sunday night. We will really bummed because we both would of preferred Japanese. The hotel prebooked one restaurant for us at the Italian Rest. and it was really unorganized. My daughter's plate was good but mine was terrible. They were out of the wine I wanted to order and out of Tiramisu. My biggest complaint was an issue when we checked out. I was suppose to get credit vouchers thru my package and when I checked in the hotel they said no problem it's in the computer. Well if was a huge problem. The hotel did not want to credit me for my wine bottle voucher and especially my spa day voucher. Huge fight with Hotel and Spa mgmt. I was very disappointed that they would let me leave angry without credited me my $90 when I spend almost $3,000. for a weekend. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? The spa said we couldn't combine my voucher thru cheap caribbean with the spa special. No one informed us of this and then proceeded to show me they plexi of their rules at the front desk. Which is all the way at the bottom and the spa is DARK! Please learn from my mistake and let each restaurtant, spa and excursion know about your voucher and ask them are there an exceptions?!

Pretty Darn Good

We had a fabulous time at the Barcelo. The Food was great and we really enjoyed just relaxing. Even though we were told that the resort was at 100% occupancy it really didn't seem like it. Our Swim up room was awesome, except that we had assumed that the pool outside our room would connect with the main pools. Not so.... Also we found the pools very cold especially the "swim up" pool as it didn't get much sun to warm the water. With the price of the swim up room we were there as part of the "club premium", Which provided a lounge w/snacks that came in very convenient a couple of times when we were hungry outside of the snack bar/buffet hours. With "club premium" you also get a private check in and the impression that you can come to the office anytime for information or to make reservations or just whatever. However, beyond check-in the staff in the club premium office pretty much seemed to be inconvenienced by us the 2 times we went into make a reservation and get a wi-fi code (both things they couldn't do at the time of check-in). So, I guess the bottom line is that the resort as a whole was really nice, but the extra price for the club premium swim up room isn't worth it......

Beautiful rooms and pool

Great Pool and wonderful service. We felt really pampered. Our room on the fourth floor had a beautiful view, even from the shower. We could open a louvered shutter and see the ocean from our shower. We slept with the doors open, to hear the ocean , there is no humidity so ,no mosquitos. The food at the sit down restaurants were very good. Wish all the sit downs were open while we were there,we were a little disappointed that the seafood grill and French restaurants were closed the entire time. Also wish we could have swum in the sea, but currents there are too strong. But the pool was huge and amazing.

Great resort

Rooms were spectacular. I wish I could have taken the bathroom home with me. The tv was basically a computer, so you stay connected if you wanted to. Beds were super comfortable. Capri was definitely the best restaurant. Other than that, I think the food was very average. Had a mani/pedi at the spa and was very please with the service and cost. There was really no nightlife which was a bit disappointing. If you want nothing but to relax, I would recommend this resort!

Not Good Value

The resort itself is very pretty. The rooms are decorated nicely, are comfortable, and are located within close proximity of most of the restaurants and amenities. We splurged on a Swim-Up suite and were glad we did...this ended up being the sole highlight. One should know, however, that the Swim-Up suites facing the general pool do not have much sun and the water is pretty chilly. We were originally in that building, asked to be moved to the other building, and were accommodated. The adult pool was very laid back yet it does not have a swim-up bar. Nonetheless, it was quite relaxing despite the somewhat difficult task of having to either make your way through the winding pool or walking through your neighbor's water area to obtain a drink. The ocean here is VERY rough...so rough in fact that you will not see many, if any, swimming here...and according to locals, this is not a seasonal issue. We have traveled throughout the Caribbean and Mexico and found the food at this resort average at best. Additionally, we were not allowed to take food back to our room from the general buffet. We have never experienced this and were a bit surprised...(we usually sleep late a few days and one of us will bring the other breakfast in bed)...not here-and they were very adamant about this rule. This was not a huge issue, but rather surprising at an All-Inclusive. The evening shows were somewhat entertaining but only from the sense that they were, well, ...comical. Don't expect much with respect to the entertainment, it is on the level of a high school performance...and I am being kind. We found the service to be decent, certainly nothing special. There was an electrical outage our last day which ended up delaying our check-out and robbed us of a planned excursion before departure. Also, for those of you who have never been to Cabo, you should understand that there are really two cities in this area and that they are about 25miles from each other. This resort is in San Jose del Cabo, not in Cabo San Lucas. A cab ride to or from either city is $35 each way and Cabo San Lucas is where everything is happening...not where this resort is located. Overall, although we had a good time, we found this resort to be overpriced and will not return. You should be able to find much better bang for your buck elsewhere.

Excellent

This is the best resort we have ever stayed in. I don't see how any others could compare to Barcelo. You will not be disappointed. The staff was very courtesy and helpful, The grounds of the resort was extremely clean and well kept, not once did you see liter laying around. Our room was the 2 bedroom Master Suite Club Premium, and we had the corner room on the 5th floor in building 3. Amazing!! The A la Carte restaurants were delicious and we never had any problems with our reservations, even one night we changed time since we wanted to make the 9:00 show, which by the way, are very entertainining. Overall I don't see how anyone could be disappointed, we had a wonderful time and we will be back.
