Excellent resort

My husband and I celebrated our retirements by spending two weeks at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe in Jan this year. We have traveled extensively, but had never been to Punta Cana before. Bavaro Beach is one of the most wonderful beaches we have ever seen. Great swimming, plenty of shade to be found on the beach. Excellent meals, numerous choices well prepared and presented, friendly staff ready and willing to make your visit the best ever. We not only highly recommend this resort to anyone who asks, we are also planning on returning for another two weeks before the end of this year.

Just what we needed!

When we were looking to book this trip, we were spent from work and needed some time to relax and not worry about too much. but knowing us once we got there we would still want to explore a bit. This destination had it all. The staff was fantastic, and the food was great except the french restuarant. The complexis huge with many parts, some of wich were closed while we were there due to updating, but we didnt even miss them. Our room in the palace deluxe was clean, comfertable, and memorable. Really felt like a five star place. Had a amazing trip and will be back!

Decent Place Very Nice Bea

All though we enjoyed the last property we stayed at more than ths one, we still had a great time. The beach area itself was awesome, and the massages beach side where even better! The food was average, all though the steak place down by the beach had awesoem grilled steak. The room we had was an updated room and very cool Overall we enjoyed ourselves!

Top 3 Beaches

An excellent resort at a very reasonable price. Buffet meals were among the best of its type experienced. Friendly staff with good service. junior Deluxe Suite rooms were a treat. Two Kilometers of some of the best beaches I've ever experienced anywhere. This resort is one we will definitely revisit, and soon.

first all inclusive vacation- WOW!!

this was our first all inclusive vacation and it was the best vaca we've had! Wanted something to celebrate an anniversay and retirement and we got everything we could have asked for. We asked for an oceanfront suite and we got that, beautiful rooms and wonderful wait staff. The food was great, had many choices of where to eat and the drinks were fantastic and plentiful. After a few days, we knew the bar tenders and they knew us - had our favorites without even having to ask. Would go back without question.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe was everything we were looking for in a vacation , the rooms were amazing and the jacuzzi on the deck made a world of difference. The food was great and the drinks had a heavy pour if you tipped. Overall a great deal, th ebeach was unbeatable!

Terrib le

This was the worst hotel . Food was awful. Service and housekeeping needs a lot of improvement. Pool was in bad condition without umbrellas. Would not recommend

Rooms were great! All of the food was extremly BAD. I thought i could eat just about anything(but liver) I found out i could"t. Most of the resorts have something that is good NOT this one. My wife and i were amazed how bad it really was. The staff did not care if you tipped or not. Terrible service all the way from the top down..Save your money and stay away Barcelo Bravo Deluxe

BEWARE

We visited for 5 days in early December and our initial and closing impressions were poor. First, the Turinter people were not easy to find nor were they knowledgeable about who was to be transferred. They also didn't know what people were going to which hotels. We had to inform the driver where to deliver us. The hotel lobby was mass confusion with no lines forming to be checked in. After filling out forms we were told our room would be ready in 40 minutes. It was 4 p.m. The biggest surprise in our junior deluxe suite with ocean view: two double beds (our package included a king bed) and a non-functioning mini-bar, totally warm. We spent the next several hours on the phone trying to get what we paid for. We were continually passed on to the next person, supposedly a manager. We tried to speak with hotel staff in person and got the same reaction: "We are full, no king beds until tomorrow at 4." Finally, 24 hours later we were moved to a room with a king bed and functioning bar. The ocean view is not worth the extra cost since you need binoculars to see the ocean from your room. When we went to arrange our transfer to the airport on the last day, Turinter rep was nowhere to be found. We waited 2 hours. Hotel staff tried calling for us, reluctantly, complaining about the cost of the 800 call. On checkout, staff tried to charge us 550 pesos from the old room, a bill run up by the people who moved in after we moved out. In sum, the beach is great, the grounds beautiful, the staff unresponsive to essential needs. No one had the decency to apologize or reassure us that they were trying to remedy the problems.

Not a 4 star resort

Maybe it is because they haven't been open that long, but the service was not good. Staff seemed uninterested in helping and unhappy. The food in the buffets was not good. Most of it seemed like it was sitting around too long - especially the breakfast french toast, pancakes and eggs. The Spanish restaurant was the best we tried. The French restaurant plays some weird game with reservations and we were unable to get in. Other restaurants got our orders wrong or took too long to bring the main course. I would have preferred more private doors on the WC in the room. Thefacility is beautiful and so is the beach. I hope they can get their act together, make some improvements and do some staff training. We did not have a good experience with Turinter Tours. They didn't tell us when we had to be in the lobby for the van to the airport until the last minute. When the van was late there was no one to ask what happened or what we should do. They came eventually but we didn't need the aggravation.
