Beach was great. Water was great. But the food left much to be desired. Most of it was probably frozen, the menus didn't make sense, the "Mexican" food wasn't Mexican, the quality was poor, etc. It wasn't good. But the beach, staff, and service were all great. Just know that you're going for the beach, not the food.
Our experience on this trip was good. It was the first time we had traveled to Mexico. The service and the staff at the Aura were just terrific. Friendly, helpful, patient with our limited Spanish. They all spoke English...we just liked trying out our Spanish. The all inclusive was great for us and there were a variety of choices so we did not get tired of any single option. Biggest downside for us was the mosquitoes...we were not prepared for the intensity of the bugs, especially at dusk and when we went to the Mayan ruins. Biggest surprise for us...we had fun even when the winds came up and the torrential downpour occurred.
This resort was beautiful. The beaches were nice, the dining areas were well maintained. One disappointment I had with this resort was the lack of entertainment. It seemed like the place went to sleep at 9PM. For an adult-only resort, I expected to see some kind of entertainment...live music....dancing....something! If you are looking for a place to totally unwind and relax, this may be your place. If you're looking for some night life, I wouldn't recommend the Aura Cozumel. The food was excellent and the service was pretty good.
This was the best Vacation of my life it was my Birthday and the staff and the resort was the best and the sweetest people I have ever seen on Vacation when my friend made plains for the night of my Birthday dinner it was so special and I was so suprize because the way the staff helped him and also they keeped me from finding out with a massage for my Birthday, what more would a couple ask for on a wonderful Vacation I really hated to leave all I can say is Thank you for a great time we loved every day we was there.
My husband and I just spent Thanskgving week at Aura. It is small and adult only which is what we wanted. The room was fine - most have ocean views. The pier is right infornt of the hotel so it is wonderful to be picked up for diving and snorkling. Fabian is fantastic for diving. The drinks are great but to food is really mediocre - it is the unfortuanate reality with an all inclusive, especially in Mexico. I would say the food is better than most all inclusives in Mexico but I read allot of reveiws saying how great it was and I do disagree. I know the rates go higher later in the season - I would have been angry had I paid any more than we did for the quality of resort. It was relaxing and we didmeet some other nice people staying at hte resort - beware they do give wrist band day passes to cruise ship guests and one day there were about 8 complete idiots who invaded the pool and beach area - I did complain about that when we checked out.
At first I thought the gave us the wrong room because it was amazing! I was so grateful since it rained the entire stay :( The room service is excellent! The snorkeling trip through sandollar was wonderful. We also did the jeep tour of the island had such a great time. The guides were awesome. I wish they had a better variety of food but overall it was great.
From the moment you arrive on the premises, the hotel staff pampers you with cool, moist towels & sparkling wine. The rooms are very clean & spacious. The bed is so soft and comfortable, it makes it difficult to get out of bed. There are double wide lounge beds on the balcony overlooking an incredible view of the ocean and the sunsets are second to none anywhere in the world. The food although not traditional Mexican food is unique, flavorful and quite enjoyable. Of course room service for breakfast can't be beat. Then there are the cocktails, what ever you like and as much as you want. I can't think of a better way to enjoy the sun on the beach then with non stop waiter service bringing you whatever you like. Paradise! If you like to snorkel, there's great snorkeling right off the pier at beach with dozens of different species of fish. The beach is wonderful, but there are rocks as you enter the surf, but that's why there is such great snorkeling right there. Thanks to Cheap Caribbean, we had a spa credit so we were able to get massages that totally enhanced the relaxing portion of our trip. The Aura Cozumel is a beautiful, quiet, clean place that caters to it's guests. There's no loud partying that goes on late into the night, but it's a great place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. I always thought all inclusive resorts would offer less than favorable products, but the Aura Cozumel exceeded our expectations and I would go back in a heartbeat. Did I mention just how incredible the staff is. Tip them, they all work very hard and deserve it!
Our vacation to Cozumel was wonderful! We chose to stay at the Aura once again as it is a very nice resort. All of the staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Our room was cleaned daily and the fridge was stocked every day as well. The alcohol selection is great! They have choices such as Captain Morgan, Citron, and many more. The night life is lacking, so if you are looking for wild parties, this is not the place. Most people would eat a late dinner and call it a night. Our group was in the minority and would stay out late having drinks and talking with the bartenders. The upstairs bar closes at 10, but the hot tubs are left on until 11 - or later, and they don`t mind if you want to stay and relax. The food was wonderful! No buffets, but at least we knew our food was prepared fresh. We never had to wait to be seated even though the resort was full. The beach is nice. It is not a sandy entrance to the ocean, rather rocky, but the rocks make for great snorkeling. It didn`t seem like they had a lot of beach chairs, but even with 4 of us we never went without one. Yes, some people did mark spots with towels, but it really seemed unnecessary. The only complaint was that they no longer allow you to eat or drink at the other two resorts. They are owned by the same people and it sounded as if they were in the process of making "changes" as there was alot of confusion by staff on if we were allowed drinks or not. We did get served drinks at both the Wyndham and the Sabor, but only 1 each and were told that`s all they could give us. It wasn`t that big a deal, though, as the Aura was a great place to be! We would definitely reccommend this resort!
This is a nice, well kept resort with a beautiful sea to relax at and enjoy. The staff are WONDERFUL!!!!!. The rooms are spacious with all of the amenities. It is a very " low key" resort that is peacful and quiet. The only downside is the restaurant choices, which do not vary daily so you can get sort of tired of the same food. The food is good but a daily " special " would add some diversity. Would definately return.
This is a very nice place to stay while visiting Cozumel. The staff was very friendly and capable, the food was great and the beach and outside bar was nice. I would recommend this resort for those looking for peace and quite.
